      Advice: The Angels rallied ahead in the bottom of the eighth inning, and Estevez made the lead stand. The closer has allowed four runs (three earned) over 8.1 innings in May while adding three saves, one blown save and two losses.       Triston McKenzie fanned a season-high nine while allowing four runs over five innings Tuesday against the Rockies.

      Advice: McKenzie left with a three-run lead, but he was denied a win after that was blown in the sixth. The no-decision left him 0-1 in his last seven starts, even though the Guardians have gone 6-1 in those games. But let’s just keep pretending win-loss records matters in 2024.       McKenzie gave up four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out nine over five innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

      Advice: Kris Bryant and Elehuris Montero each tagged McKenzie for a two-run home run. Despite those homers, McKenzie left the game in line for the win before the Guardians' bullpen faltered in the sixth inning. The right-hander had limited opponents to three runs or fewer in each of his last seven outings before his step back Tuesday. McKenzie is at a 3.77 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 54:34 K:BB over 57.1 innings across 11 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Royals in a tough divisional matchup.       Freddy Peralta allowed one earned run and three hits over 5 2/3 innings while striking out 11 in Tuesday’s loss to the Cubs.

      Advice: Peralta was solid in this one, striking out 11 batters while allowing just five total base runners. A solo homer by Michael Busch in the third inning was his lone blemish on the night, as Peralta largely held the Cubs in check. He was bailed out of a loss thanks to a two-out RBI single by Willy Adames in the ninth and is now sporting a 3.61 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through 11 games.       Royce Lewis (quad) played seven innings at third base on Tuesday for Triple-A St. Paul.

      Advice: Lewis went 0-for-3 at the dish and made his first appearance in the field since kicking off a minor league rehab assignment last week. The 24-year-old third baseman will presumably require at least a handful of additional tune-up contests to get back up to speed before returning to Minnesota.       The Rangers activated Langford (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The 22-year-old has been on the shelf more than three weeks due to a hamstring injury but will rejoin the Rangers after a three-game rehab stint with Triple-A Round Rock. Langford was struggling offensively before going on the injured list, as he was in the midst of a 3-for-28 slump. Evan Carter (back) was moved to the 10-day IL in a corresponding move.
