    • Clay Holmes takes blown save against Angels
Clay Holmes took his third blown save after giving up two hits in the eighth Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Holmes wasn’t charged with a run. He was brought in after setup man extraordinaire Luke Weaver got into trouble in a 3-2 game in the eighth and gave up a two-run double to Taylor Ward to blow the lead. He then allowed a soft infield single versus the shift before finishing the inning. Obviously, it would have been nice if Holmes couldn’t have gotten out of the jam here, but allowing one well-hit ball doesn’t reflect all that poorly on him. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago
    • Keeps rolling for 16th save
Suarez earned a save against the Marlins on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Suarez was summoned in the ninth frame to protect a one-run lead and had no trouble doing so, retiring the side in order on 14 pitches. The right-hander came into the campaign with a loose grip on the ninth-inning role for the Padres but has emerged as one of the league's top first-half closers with 16 saves (in 16 chances) while posting a 0.73 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB over 24.2 innings. Prior to this season, Suarez had just one save over 71 major-league appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm

    • Suarez picks up 16th save against Marlins Monday
Robert Suarez tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: The save was Suarez’ 16th of the season. He lowered his ERA to 0.73 on the season. While the Padres’ closer situation was ambiguous going into the season, Suarez has grabbed the job and run with it to the point where he’s been one of the best closers in all of fantasy this season. • Converts four-out save
Suarez picked up the save in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Yankees, striking out two while allowing one run on two hits in 1.1 innings.

Advice: Suarez came in with two runners on and two out in the eighth to face Aaron Judge and bested him with a strikeout. He returned for the ninth and started off by allowing a home run to Alex Verdugo but was able to get the job done from there. The home run was the first run Suarez has given up since March 28. He continues to be one of the most dominant closers in baseball this year, as he's now tied for third with 15 saves and owns a 0.76 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB in 23.2 innings. • Converts 17th save
Clase allowed a hit in a scoreless inning and earned a save over the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Clase worked around a two-out single to close out the 5-4 victory and pick up his 17th save of the year. He's gone 20.1 straight innings without allowing an earned run and he's converted 13 of his last 14 save chances. Clase's ERA is down to a ridiculous 0.33 with a 26:2 K:BB through 27.1 frames. • Clase slams the door for 17th save
Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth inning to close out a 5-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Clase allowed a two-out single but no other damage as he earned his 17th save of the season. The right-hander now has a 0.33 ERA and has been far-and-away the best closer in baseball so far in 2024. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:57 pm
    • Flirts with danger in save
Fairbanks allowed two hits and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Royals.

Advice: Fairbanks allowed back-to-back two-out singles to load the bases, but he got Bobby Witt on a groundout to end the threat. Despite the danger, Fairbanks turned in his seventh straight scoreless outing since returning from a nerve issue in his arm. He's allowed just four baserunners in that span. The 30-year-old has a 4.50 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 18:9 K:BB and five saves over 14 innings this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:15 pm

    • Peter Fairbanks holds on for the save
Peter Fairbanks earned the save on Sunday after allowing two hits and a walk in his one inning of work.

Advice: The Royals loaded the bases against Fairbanks who got Bobby Witt Jr. to ground out and end the game. Fairbanks didn’t get a single swing and miss but nailed down his fifth save all the same. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:00 pm

    • Nails down 15th save
Holmes picked up the save over the Padres on Saturday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out one.

Advice: Holmes made it look easy Saturday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth on a total of just seven pitches to record his 15th save of the season. The right-handed reliever has now converted his last two save opportunities after surrendering four runs to the Mariners on May 20, striking out at least one batter in each of those appearances. Holmes sits just one save behind Emmanuel Clase (16) for the American League lead after Saturday's outing. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:40 am
