    • Brayan Bello strikes out seven in win over Orioles
      Brayan Bello allowed three runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

      Advice: The right-hander struck out seven and walked two on the evening. Bello had a rough first inning, allowing all three runs on three hits, but he bounced back exceptionally well and had his entire arsenal working, registering a 38 percent whiff rate and 37 percent CSW. Bello’s changeup was particularly effective on Tuesday, getting 10 whiffs on 21 swings, but he also had a 38 percent whiff rate on his slider which will be a big pitch for him if he wants to take the next step in his development. Overall, it was a strong showing for the 25-year-old, and he’ll now take a 4.18 ERA into a showdown with the Tigers this weekend. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

      Bello (6-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Orioles, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Baltimore got to Bello early Tuesday, scoring three runs in the opening frame, before the right-hander settled in and blanked the Orioles over his subsequent four frames while allowing just one additional hit. It's the fifth win for Bello in his last six starts. His ERA sits at 4.18 through nine outings (47.1 innings) this year with a 1.18 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB.       Miller (4-5) earned the win over Houston on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

      Advice: Miller came into the contest having lost three consecutive outings, during which he posted a 5.71 ERA. The right-hander bounced back with his sixth quality start of the season and his sixth outing with at least six strikeouts.       Bryce Miller pitched six innings of two-run ball for the win as the Mariners edged the Astros 3-2 on Monday.

      Advice: Seattle got three in the bottom of the first and Houston scored twice in the fifth to account for all of the scoring. Miller was actually perfect through four before giving up four hits in the fifth and one more in the sixth. He struck out six.       Snell allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Monday.

      Advice: Snell went on the paternity list Thursday while awaiting the birth of his child, but he ended up taking his normal turn in the rotation. The left-hander set a season high with seven punchouts but again failed to complete five innings -- through five starts this season, he's topped out at 4.2 frames.       Blake Snell allowed four runs (three earned) in four innings and got a no-decision in the Giants’ 8-4 victory over the Phillies on Monday.



      Advice: Snell allowed five hits, two walks and struck out seven. It’s been a difficult start to the year for the two-time Cy Young award winner. Snell is yet to complete five innings in any of his five starts and has a 10.42 ERA. The seven strikeouts were a season-high at least. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees at home this weekend.

      Assad (4-1) took the loss Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings.

      Advice: Assad's final run line could've looked a lot better had it not been for two mistakes thrown to Paul Goldschmidt. He served up nearly identical two-run homers to Goldschmidt in the third and fifth innings to give the Cardinals a lead they would never relinquish. Assad has now allowed multiple home runs in back-to-back starts while also walking eight batters over that span. The one positive to take away from Sunday's outing is he was able to tie his career-high with eight strikeouts and has 19 strikeouts over his last 15.2 innings.       Javier Assad wasn’t at his best in Sunday night’s loss to the Cardinals, giving up four runs on five hits over his five innings of work.

      Advice: The right-hander piled up eight strikeouts on the night while issuing three free passes. All of the damage done against him came on two bad pitches, that Paul Goldschmidt pulverized for a pair of two-run homers — one in the third inning and another in the fifth. Assad got seven swings and misses on 81 pitches on the night, registering a strong CSW of 35 percent.
