• Josh Smith homers in win
Josh Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Smith took Sam Long deep 383 feet at 102.2 mph for his seventh home run on the season. The 26-year-old has been brilliant filling in for Josh Jung, hitting .303/.391/.478 on the year. Considering his ability to play all over the field, he should be able to fight for consistent playing time even when Jung returns. Provided he keeps hitting like this. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:01 pm

  • Tanner Scott stays red-hot with save
Tanner Scott earned the save Sunday over the Mariners after allowing two hits and a walk. He also struck out one batter.

Advice: This was a shaky save for Scott as the Mariners put the tying run in scoring position. Luckily, Otto Lopez snagged a line drive off the bat of Julio Rodríguez that would have tied the game. Scott’s ERA sank to a minuscule 1.64 with this outing. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:25 pm
  • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Marlins transferred Cabrera (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Advice: Cabrera landed on the IL on May 8 with a right shoulder impingement and looked to be on the cusp of a return after making a three-inning rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday. However, given the Marlins' decision to move him to the 60-day IL -- which now leaves him ineligible for activation for another two weeks -- it's possible that Cabrera hit a snag in his rehab start, or the organization is deliberately aiming to slow down his return. According to Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com, Cabrera had been scheduled to make his second rehab start with Jacksonville on Tuesday and was expected to cover four innings or 60 pitches, but it's unclear if his move to the 60-day IL means that those plans have changed. • Aaron Judge at designated hitter Sunday vs. Braves
Aaron Judge is at designated hitter for Sunday’s series finale against the Braves.

Advice: Judge will likely spend additional time at designated hitter moving forward in the wake of Giancarlo Stanton’s unfortunate hamstring injury. The 32-year-old generational talent slugged his major league-leading 28th home run of the season during Saturday night’s win at Yankee Stadium and is in the midst of one of the best extended stretches of his career. It can only be a positive thing for his immediate health for him to get a break from playing center field everyday, at least for a few weeks leading into next month’s All-Star break. • Marlins transfer Edward Cabrera to 60-day IL
Marlins transferred RHP Edward Cabrera to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Nothing has changed with Cabrera’s return timeline as the procedural move was simply to free up a spot on Miami’s 40-man roster to bring in some emergency starting pitching depth. The 26-year-old righty has been out since early May with a right shoulder impingement. He’s now eligible to return to Miami’s starting rotation mix in early July. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:10 am

  • Serving as DH sans Stanton
Judge will serve as the designated hitter and bat third for Sunday's series finale against Atlanta.

Advice: With Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) placed on the injured list Sunday, Judge will have more turns at DH while Trent Grisham gets reps in the outfield, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. For the month of June, Judge is slashing a blistering .381/.494/.857 with eight home runs and 25 while boasting a 1.351 OPS. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:43 am

  • Back at third base for now
Smith started at third base and went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-0 win over Kansas City.

Advice: Smith made a second consecutive start in the field after serving as a designated hitter for a pair of games. He had been dealing with a hamstring injury that forced him to miss four games before returning as the DH. Now that he's back in the field, the question becomes how long he will be there. Third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) rejoined the team Friday and will take live batting practice Tuesday. If all goes well, Jung could be activated off the 60-day injured list afterward. The Rangers would like to keep Smith's bat in the lineup; he's batting .304/.393/.469 over a career-high 259 plate appearances. The lefty hitter could serve as the primary DH; he owns an .857 OPS against lefties and an .863 OPS against righties this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:36 am

  • Productive in win
Judge went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Saturday's 8-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Judge generated runs in a variety of ways. His first-inning blast put the Yankees ahead, and he drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to tack on an insurance run. Even one of his outs, a groundout into a double play, allowed a run to score in the third. Judge has three homers over his last five contests and is up to 28 long balls this year as he continues to pace the majors. He's added a spectacular .301/.425/.692 slash line with 70 RBI, 59 runs scored and five stolen bases through 77 games, a level of production quite similar to his MVP campaign from 2022. • Aaron Judge swats 28th homer as Yankees top Braves
Aaron Judge swatted his league-leading 28th home run of the season on Saturday night, helping to propel the Yankees to an 8-3 victory over the visiting Braves.

Advice: Judge opened the scoring in the ballgame in the first inning, crushing a 366-foot (101.5 mph EV) two-run shot off of Charlie Morton. He then strolled to the plate with the bases loaded in the third inning but wound up grounding into a double play. Judge also batted with the bases juiced in the sixth inning, where he worked Aaron Bummer for a walk to pick up another RBI. The 32-year-old superstar is now slashing a monstrous .301/.425/.692 with the aforementioned 28 long balls and 70 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:27 pm
