• Joining MLB roster
The Pirates selected Fleming to the active roster Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Fleming will rejoin the Pirates' bullpen after being DFA'd on May 14. He'll take the place of Hunter Stratton (triceps), who was placed on the 15-day IL, on the active roster while Niko Goodrum was designated for assignment to make room for Fleming on the 40-man roster. Fleming has pitched 19 innings with the Pirates this season and owns a 5.68 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

  • Pirates promote Josh Fleming from Triple-A Indy
Pirates selected the contract of LHP Josh Fleming from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: He’ll take the place of the injured Hunter Stratton (shoulder) in the Pirates’ bullpen. Fleming has already made 17 appearances with the big league club this season, posting an underwhelming 5.68 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and a 13/9 K/BB ratio across 19 innings. Niko Goodrum was designated for assignment in a corresponding move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster. Rotoworld Today, 4:09 pm

  • Slated for sim game Tuesday
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Gallen (hamstring) threw a 37-pitch bullpen Friday, and the right-hander is slated to throw a sim game Tuesday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Gallen threw from the mound for the second time since landing on the injured list May 31 due to a right hamstring strain. It's another step in the right direction for the 28-year-old, who before the injury registered a 3.12 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 57.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 3:55 pm

  • Returning Wednesday
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Miller (shoulder) will return from the injured list and start Wednesday against the Rockies, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Right shoulder inflammation has kept Miller on the injured list since mid-April, but he's been playing in rehab games since May 26. The 25-year-old righty put up a 7.80 ERA and 1.80 WHIP alongside a 10:8 K:BB ratio through 15 innings in the minors, though he was able to touch 99 mph with his fastball during his last outing. He will be welcomed back to the big leagues by a Rockies offense that currently ranks 17th in the majors with a .687 OPS. Rotowire.com Today, 3:47 pm

  • Clayton Kershaw to make rehab start on Wednesday
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will make his first minor league rehab start at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday.

Advice: Kershaw made it through another simulated game without issue on Thursday, so this was seemingly the most obvious next step for him. The 36-year-old hurler is going to need several outings there to build up his stamina and is expected to be ready to join the Dodgers’ rotation at some point around the All-Star break. • Bobby Miller to rejoin Dodgers’ rotation Wednesday
Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts told reporters on Friday that Bobby Miller (shoulder) will rejoin the team’s starting rotation on Wednesday against the Rockies in Colorado.

Advice: While the results weren’t there in his final rehab start on Thursday, Miller came through the game healthy and that’s all the really matters at this point. He has made just three starts at the big league level this season, posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and an 18/6 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings of work. It’s unclear if the Dodgers will switch to a six-man rotation, or if James Paxton or Gavin Stone will get bumped from the rotation to accommodate Miller’s return. Rotoworld Today, 3:42 pm

  • Zac Gallen to throw simulated game on Tuesday
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Friday that right-hander Zac Gallen (hamstring) will pitch in a simulated game on Tuesday.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler is slated for three innings or around 45 pitches in the session. After that, he’ll likely need another simulated game — or perhaps a minor league rehab start — before he’s ready to return to the Diamondbacks’ rotation. Gallen has been sidelined since the end of May due to a right hamstring strain. Rotoworld Today, 3:27 pm

  • Another bullpen on tap
Faedo (hip) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Faedo said he felt "really good" Thursday after completing his first bullpen session since being placed on the injured list June 5. With another bullpen coming Sunday, Faedo seems likely to begin a rehab stint in the near future and could be back with the Tigers by the end of June. Rotowire.com Today, 3:10 pm

  • Resuming assignment
Mata (hamstring) will resume his rehab assignment at Double-A Portland on Friday or Saturday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Advice: Mata remains without a clear return timeline, but he appears to be trending in the right direction since being pulled off his assignment in May due to shoulder/lat soreness. The 25-year-old righty has been on the IL all season, and because he is out of minor-league options, he would either need to join the big-league roster or be designated for assignment upon returning.
