    • Brent Rooker hits three-run homer in loss
Brent Rooker went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run on Sunday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: Rooker’s homer was his 11th of the season and he scalded this one at 111.7 MPH off the bat. There’s still a lot of swing and miss in his game, but a barrel rate right around 15% and hitting third in the surging A’s lineup has turned him into one of the best run producers in the league early this season. • Colin Rea can’t escape 5th versus Astros
Colin Rea allowed five runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Things got off to a rough start for Rea, who allowed four runs on three hits in the first inning. He settled down for three innings after that, allowing three hits but no runs before running out of steam in the fifth. He posted a 19 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW on the day and now sports a 4.07 ERA on the year. He’s a risky start next week in Boston. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Aaron Civale uneven again in loss
Aaron Civale allowed four earned runs across 5 1/3 innings on Sunday. He walked four and struck out three.

Advice: A popular breakout pick, Civale has not had a good season. Sunday was more of the same as he didn’t miss many bats and just couldn’t get out of innings cleanly. Two of the runs were inherited that came around to score after he exited, there was traffic nearly every frame and it was a marvel he only allowed four earned runs. He will take a 5.92 ERA into his next start at home against the Royals. Rotoworld Today, 1:39 pm

    • Not in Sunday's lineup
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Smith will get a breather for Sunday's series finale after going 1-for-7 with a walk and an RBI in the first two games of the series. Austin Barnes will step in behind the plate to catch for Landon Knack. Rotowire.com Today, 10:57 am

    • Heading to bench Sunday
Rosario is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Toronto.

Advice: Rosario started the first two games of the series but will take a seat Sunday after going 3-for-9 with two RBI and three strikeouts. Richie Palacios will man the keystone in the series finale. Rotowire.com Today, 9:47 am

    • On track for Tuesday
Musgrove (elbow) is listed as the Padres' probable starter for Tuesday's game against the Reds, ESPN.com reports.

Advice: The veteran right-hander was originally expected to return from the injured list to start Sunday in Atlanta, but Yu Darvish is now pitching that contest following Saturday's postponement. Musgrove will return from elbow inflammation without going on a rehab assignment, so he could have some minor workload limitations in his first start back. Rotowire.com Today, 9:44 am

    • Joe Musgrove (triceps) likely to start Tuesday
Joe Musgrove (triceps) won’t be activated off the injured list Sunday.

Advice: Instead, Musgrove is likely to start Tuesday against the Reds. The right-hander was scheduled to come off the injured list Sunday from his triceps injury, but with Saturday’s game being postponed due to rain, the Padres will push back Musgrove’s return to the mound a couple of days. • Return date uncertain
Musgrove (elbow) is no longer slated to pitch Sunday, as the team pushed Yu Darvish back after Saturday's game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: Furthermore, the Padres are currently listing Dylan Cease and Randy Vasquez for Monday's doubleheader, so Tuesday may be the new target date for Musgrove. Manager Mike Shildt had previously indicated Musgrove would return Sunday, but that was before Saturday's rainout. Musgrove has struggled this season but appears on track to bypass a rehab assignment and return shortly after the minimum. Rotowire.com Today, 9:06 am
