    • Joining Sunday's lineup
Adames is starting at shortstop and batting cleanup Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: Both Adames and William Contreras were scheduled to receive their first days off of the season Sunday, but they were apparently able to lobby their way into the starting nine. Over the past 11 games, Adames is hitting .372 with six doubles, two homers, 13 RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Dealing with neck stiffness
Bachman (shoulder) pulled himself from a rehab outing Thursday due to a stiff neck, per MLB.com.

Advice: Bachman is attempting to return from offseason shoulder surgery and began a rehab assignment May 25. His second appearance was slated to last two frames, but the neck issue instead limited Bachman to just two-thirds of an inning. The right-hander said he felt better the following day, but it's unclear when his next rehab outing may take place. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

    • Out against righty again
Kiermaier is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Kiermaier will sit for the second straight matchup with a right-hander (Quinn Priester), perhaps signaling that the veteran's hold on a regular role in the outfield could be tenuous. Daniel Vogelbach has been included in the lineup at designated hitter in both of the past two games at Kiermaier's expense, while Toronto has rolled out outfields of Davis Schneider, Daulton Varsho and George Springer from left to right. Kiermaier is hitting just .212 with a .265 on-base percentage across 116 plate appearances on the season. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago
    • Late addition to lineup
Contreras is starting behind the plate and batting second Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: The 26-year-old catcher was scheduled to receive his first day off of the season Sunday, but he apparently convinced manager Pat Murphy to continue the starting streak. Contreras has gone 6-for-25 with no extra-base hits over the past six games versus the Cubs and White Sox. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
    • Adames, Contreras inserted back into lineup
Willy Adames is hitting fourth and playing shortstop Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: Both Adames and William Contreras were originally scheduled to get their first day off of the season. Nope. The new lineup has Adames in his usual spot at shortstop, and Contreras is hitting second and catching. Kinda weird, but it keeps the streak going for both. Andruw Monasterio and Oliver Dunn were scratched from the lineup, but this does not appear to be injury related. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

    • Kicks off rehab assignment
Silseth (elbow) threw three scoreless innings Friday, allowing one hit and striking out three batters, in a rehab appearance with the Angels' Arizona Complex League team.

Advice: Silseth looked good in the outing and threw 23 of his 39 pitches for strikes. The right-hander has been on the shelf since April 8 but is nearing eligibility to return from the 60-day IL. Silseth will almost certainly need at least one, and likely multiple, additional rehab starts before he's ready to be activated. With struggling Reid Detmers demoted to the minors Saturday, there is a space in the big-league rotation available for Silseth upon his return. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

    • Out against righty again
Olivares is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Olivares will sit against a right-handed pitcher (Chris Bassitt) for a third consecutive matchup. He looked to have moved into a full-time role following Jack Suwinski's demotion to Triple-A Indianapolis on May 23, but Olivares appears to be stuck in a short-side platoon role while the lefty-hitting Rowdy Tellez has regained playing time versus right-handed pitching. • Angels bring up Ben Joyce from Double-A
Angels recalled RHP Ben Joyce from Double-A Rocket City.

Advice: Joyce is the corresponding transaction for Reid Detmers after Detmers was demoted to Triple-A by the Angels on Saturday night. Joyce has posted a mediocre 4.26 ERA in his 18 appearances with the Trash Pandas, but he has struck out 34 over 19 innings thanks in large part to his impressive 100-plus mph fastball. • Goes deep Saturday
Santander went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

Advice: Santander has started to look more like himself, going 9-for-32 (.281) with three homers over his last nine contests. For the year, he's slashing .218/.300/.440 with 10 homers, 30 RBI, 29 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases. Santander has been plagued by a .224 BABIP this year, so it's no surprise his overall numbers are down, but it's a reason for optimism that he'll be able to turn things around.
