    • Builds up to 66 pitches
Williams (elbow) struck out four and allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks across five innings in his rehab start Friday with Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Making the fifth start of his rehab assignment, Williams delivered his longest outing yet in terms of both innings and pitches (66, 47 strikes). A decision on Williams' next step hasn't been decided, but the Guardians may want to see him get over the 70-pitch mark with one more rehab start during the upcoming week before he makes his long-awaited return from the 60-day injured list. The young right-hander has been on the shelf all season with right elbow discomfort, an injury that stemmed from him making an awkward throw during a weighted-ball workout in spring training. • Seven-game hitting streak
Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a double Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Arozarena extended his hitting streak to seven games, two of which have been multi-hit efforts. He's hitting .391 in that span while tallying two homers, six RBI, five runs scored and three stolen bases. With this stretch, Arozarena has raised his average to .191 -- his highest mark since April 14. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:24 am
    • Stuck with loss in quality start
Crawford (3-7) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Reds, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Some defensive misadventures by Boston softened the blow to the right-hander's ERA and allowed him to escape with his third straight quality start and eighth of the season, but it's hard to ignore the issues Crawford has had of late keeping the ball in the park. He's been tagged for multiple homers in three straight outings and served up at least one in seven straight, stumbling to a 5.36 ERA over the latter stretch despite a 1.19 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB through 40.1 innings. Crawford will try to turn things around in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:46 am

    • Delivers winning knock
Ward went 2-for-3 with one RBI, one walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Ward put the Angels ahead with an RBI single in the 10th inning and then stole second. The Angels didn't add to their lead, but they were able to hold on. With just two multi-hit efforts in June, Ward has been a bit disappointing after he started the season in good form at the plate. He's slashing .240/.325/.419 with 12 home runs, three steals, 38 RBI and 35 runs scored over 73 contests, but just one of those long balls has been among his three extra-base hits in June. • Kutter Crawford gives up three homers in loss
Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs — three earned — in 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Crawford surrendered three homers tonight, bringing his total allowed to seven in his last three starts. He’s given up at least one in seven straight outings. Odds are that Crawford will bounce back from this, but he’s never been more than a fringy mixed-league option in a bad situation for pitchers. Rotoworld Friday, 10:40 pm

    • Taylor Ward drives in game-winner against Dodgers
Taylor Ward stole a base and drove home the game-winning run in the 10th against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Ward untied the game with an RBI single in the top of the 10th off Evan Phillips to give the Angels the lead and the (surprising) victory. The stolen base was just the third of the year for the 30-year-old outfielder. After a red-hot start, Ward has come back to earth — something that’s happened a bunch on his career — with a .240/.325/.419 slash over 77 games. Rotoworld Friday, 9:56 pm

    • Fernando Tatis Jr. day-to-day with triceps contusion
Fernando Tatis Jr. is day-to-day with a left triceps contusion, the Padres announced.

Advice: Tatis left Friday’s game after he was in the elbow by a pitch. If he can’t play Saturday, then José Azocar will probably play right field. Rotoworld Friday, 9:32 pm

    • Dealing with contusion
Tatis left Friday's game with a left triceps contusion, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tatis exited the game two innings after being hit on the arm by a pitch. He appears to have avoided serious injury, though it's unclear whether imaging has already occurred, or if it will be required. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:15 pm

    • Fernando Tatis Jr. leaves game after hit by pitch
Fernando Tatis Jr. was pulled from Friday night’s battle against the Brewers after he was hit by a pitch on his left elbow.

Advice: The 25-year-old superstar remained in the game to run the bass for himself and even played another couple of innings in the field, but he was ultimately lifted for a pinch-hitter the next time that his spot came around in the Padres’ lineup. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures. Stay tuned, as the Padres should have an update on his status after the game. Rotoworld Friday, 8:26 pm
