    • Red Sox promote RHP prospect Perales to AA
Red Sox promoted starting pitching prospect Luis Perales to Double-A Portland.

Advice: Depending on the scouting service, Perales is either ranked as the best or second-best pitching prospect in Boston’s system and one of their top 10 overall prospects. The 21-year-old had a 3.42 ERA across 26 1/3 innings (seven starts) with 46 strikeouts and just 10 walks. He will now try to keep up that strikeout rate at a higher level, but the 6'1" starter was one of the high-upside prospects who many thought would benefit from the Red Sox overhauling their pitching development system. • Silences Dodgers over five frames
Nelson (3-3) earned the win Wednesday, shutting out the Dodgers over five innings while allowing five hits and three walks. He struck out five.

Advice: Nelson didn't draw the start but relieved Brandon Hughes with just two outs in the first inning before pitching all the way into the sixth. The right-hander struck out three of the first five batters he faced and induced 10 whiffs on the night, while also working his way out of multiple jams against a lethal Dodgers lineup. It was a great bounceback effort for Nelson after allowing a season-high eight runs in his previous outing. He's now won three of his last four decisions (spanning six outings). • Homers in third straight
McMahon went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over Oakland.

Advice: McMahon went hitless in his first four at-bats before adding a single in the ninth and a two-run homer in the top of the 12th, which would end up being the game winner. It marked the third baseman's third consecutive game with a home run and he's now up to five long balls in May to go along with 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. McMahon has also hit safely in 10 straight games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:29 am

    • Another three-hit performance
Diaz went 3-for-5 with a double and a two-run homer in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.

Advice: Diaz jumped on a hanging slider from Mitch Spence in the first inning and crushed it over the wall in center field to give the Rockies an early 2-0 lead. The catcher would then add a single and a double in his next two at-bats, giving him his second-consecutive three-hit performance. Diaz has been on a tear in May, batting .370 with two homers, nine RBI and five runs scored while also posting eight multi-hit games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:22 am
    • Lasts just three frames no-decision
Spence did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over three innings while striking out four.

Advice: Spence got knocked around early, surrendering a leadoff single to Charlie Blackmon to open the contest, followed by a two-run shot off the bat of Elias Diaz three batters later. Those would be the only two runs allowed by the right-hander on the night, though he continued to struggle with his command, needing 27 pitches to get through the third inning alone. Spence has been unable to get through five innings in either of his first two starts and also matched his season high with three walks Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 4:15 am

    • Goes eight innings in no-decision
Gomber did not factor into the decision in a win over Oakland on Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out six over eight innings.

Advice: Gomber went 1-2-3 through Oakland's lineup in each of the first three innings before surrendering a solo homer to JJ Bleday in the bottom of the fourth. However, that would be the only run that he'd allow while going eight innings for the first time this season. The lefty induced 12 whiffs on the night and didn't walk a batter for the first time in his last four starts. It also marked Gomber's fourth quality start in a row and he now carries a pristine 0.68 ERA in May (four starts). Rotowire.com Today, 4:04 am
    • Goes deep in win
Olson went 2-for-5 in Wednesday's win over the Cubs with a solo home run.

Advice: Olson launched a two-out, solo homer in the top of the seventh to extend Atlanta's lead to seven runs, giving the first baseman his fourth long ball this month and seventh overall on the season. The veteran infielder also added a single on the night, marking his ninth multi-hit performance of the campaign and fifth in his last nine games. He's now hit safely in eight of his last 10 contests, tallying three homers and eight RBI over that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 3:54 am
    • Smacks third homer
Duvall went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Cubs while also being hit by a pitch.

Advice: Duvall jumped on a four-seamer from Justin Steele in the top of the third and crushed it 423 feet into the stands in center field to give Atlanta an early 2-0 lead. The outfielder would then come around to score for a second time on a sac fly in the seventh after being hit by a pitch, marking only the second time this season in which he's scored two runs in a game. The home run was Duvall's third of the campaign and first since April 23 against the Marlins, while the two RBI were also his first in the month of May. Rotowire.com Today, 3:42 am
    • Ketel Marte homers, extends hit streak to 21 games
Ketel Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in the Diamondbacks’ 6-0 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Marte came into this one riding a 20-game hitting streak. He extended it to 21 games right away with a base hit in the first inning. Marte later took Ryan Yarbrough deep for a solo homer in the eighth inning. The 30-year-old second baseman is hitting .291/.339/.523 with 10 homers, 35 runs scored, and 27 RBI across 221 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:03 pm
