    • Bo Bichette not in the lineup on Thursday
Bo Bichette (calf) is not in the Blue Jays lineup on Thursday.

Advice: Bichette left Wednesday’s game after tweaking his calf while fielding a pick-off attempt in the second inning. “First step kind of caught him a little bit,” said Blue Jays manager John Schneider. “He wanted to stay in. He’s a gamer. I just...I didn’t want to take a chance.” It seems that the Blue Jays will not take a chance on Thursday either, but there doesn’t to be much concern about a lengthy absence even though Bichette was on the IL with a right calf strain from June 15-24. Leo Jimenez will start in his place and bat ninth on Thursday. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:10 am

    • Sitting out Thursday
Bichette (calf) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Bichette made an early exit from Wednesday's 10-6 win after experiencing soreness in his right calf while he was playing the field during a pickoff attempt. Though the Blue Jays appear to be viewing Bichette as day-to-day for now, he spent time on the injured list in June with a strain of the same calf. Leo Jimenez will fill in for Bichette at shortstop Thursday. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:45 am

    • Stays hot in Wednesday's win
Schuemann went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs in a win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Schuemann made plenty of noise out of the bottom of the order, generating one of two multi-hit efforts for the Athletics on the night while recording a steal for the second straight game. The rookie shortstop also has an eight-game on-base streak, and he's now posted multi-hit tallies twice in the last four contests. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:21 am

    • Grabs 16th steal Wednesday
Moore went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in a win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Moore delivered one of the Mariners' four singles on the night and also continued inching closer to surpassing the career-high 21 steals he recorded in both 2021 and 2022 by swiping his 16th bag of the campaign. Moore has also hit safely in four consecutive starts, but his .213 average still leaves plenty to be desired. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:58 am

    • Getting fifth straight start
McKinstry will start at third base and bat sixth in Thursday's game against the Guardians, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: Even with Javier Baez (back) returning from the injured list Monday, McKinstry has been able to retain a near-everyday role in the Detroit infield, at least against right-handed pitching. McKinstry will draw his fifth consecutive start Thursday, with the 29-year-old having picked up three starts at third base and two at shortstop during that span. Third base could end up being the primary home for McKinstry if he hits well enough to retain a regular spot in the lineup, as Matt Vierling is capable of filling in as an outfielder while Parker Meadows (hamstring) is on the shelf. • Swipes bag in win
Monasterio went 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 9-0 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Monasterio has a pair of multi-hit efforts over seven games in July, but he's gone hitless in four other contests this month. The infielder is slashing a meager .200/.286/.267 with one home run, nine RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases across 84 plate appearances. While Joey Ortiz (neck) is on the injured list, Monasterio has shared third base with Vinny Capra, though neither player has done much with their extra playing time. • Fuels offense in win
Adames went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, an additional RBI, one double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 9-0 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Adames plated the game's first run with an RBI double before putting a bow on the scoring with his eighth-inning homer. The shortstop is batting .343 (12-for-35) over nine games in July after going hitless over his last six games in June. For the season, he's up to 14 homers, 62 RBI, 49 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, 21 doubles and a .240/.327/.418 slash line through 404 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:07 pm
    • Exits with calf soreness
Bichette was removed from Wednesday's game versus San Francisco due to right calf soreness.

Advice: The severity of Bichette's injury remains unclear, but it was apparently bothering him enough to warrant his removal from Wednesday's contest in the fourth inning. Leo Jimenez entered as Bichette's replacement at shortstop and would likely be the next man up to start should the 26-year-old's calf cause him to miss any amount of time. • Willy Adames goes yard in win over Pirates
Willy Adames went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, two runs scored, and four RBI to lead the Brewers to a 9-0 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Adames had a big day at the plate against the Pirates, starting with a double to put the Brewers on the board in the first inning. He scored on a single by Sal Frelick. Adames led off the fifth with a base hit, then ended his 17-game homer drought with a three-run blast off Ryder Ryan in the eighth. The 28-year-old shortstop is slashing .240/.327/.418 with 14 homers, 49 runs scored, 62 RBI, and 12 steals across 404 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:49 pm
