    • Berrios picks up seventh win over Yankees Thursday
      Jose Berrios allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Blue Jays’ 9-2 victory over the Yankees on Thursday.



      Advice: Berrios gave up two hits, walked three and struck out eight. The win was his seventh of the year and second in June. The eight strikeouts were a season-high for Berrios. His struggles with the home run continued as he has allowed a home run in each of his last five starts and 11 of his last 12 starts. Both runs Berrios allowed came on the two-run home run he gave up to Trent Grisham in the fifth inning. He has a 3.38 ERA and 4.34 xFIP on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Astros at home next week.

    • Luis Robert homers to give White Sox 1-0 victory
      Luis Robert went 2-for-3 with a homer in a victory over Atlanta on Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader.

      Advice: Robert’s homer was not only the only run Chris Sale allowed and not only the only run for the White Sox, it was the only run scored by either team Thursday. The 26-year-old has homered eight times in his 103 at-bats while driving in 12 runs.     • Ketel Marte doubles and homers in loss to Twins
      Ketel Marte homered and doubled in a blowout loss Thursday to the Twins.

      Advice: Marte now has 17 homers on the season to go with 17 doubles. It’s been a fantastic season for the 30-year-old even in a shaky — to put it nicely — season for the Diamondbacks with those numbers along with 47 RBI and an .863 OPS. Rotoworld Today, 4:45 pm
       
    • Lars Nootbaar starting rehab assignment on Friday
      Lars Nootbaar (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Friday with Double-A Springfield.

      Advice: Nootbaar told reporters Thursday that he expects to play at least five or six rehab contests before returning to the majors. The 26-year-old corner outfielder has been on the shelf since late May recovering from a moderate oblique strain.     • Beginning assignment Friday
      Nootbaar (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Friday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

      Advice: Nootbaar said he expects his rehab assignment to last roughly six games, which would put him in line to return to the active roster July 5 for the beginning of St. Louis' series with the Nationals.     • Strong results in rehab outing
      Williams (elbow) yielded one run on three hits and two walks over four innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

      Advice: Williams wasn't very efficient, needing 82 pitches to cover his four frames. The results were impressive, though, as he struck out six, induced 16 whiffs and gave up just one batted ball hit at 95+ mph. The Guardians have not confirmed any plans for when Williams' season debut for them will occur, but it could be next week, as soon as Tuesday versus the White Sox.       Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an RBI single during Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers in 10 innings.

      Advice: Lowe teed off on Dallas Keuchel Wednesday, tagging the Brewers' starter for an RBI single in the second inning before launching a two-run shot off Keuchel in the fourth.       Kimbrel earned a save against the Guardians on Wednesday, walking one batter and striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: Kimbrel issued a two-out walk but otherwise overpowered Cleveland with three punchouts. The veteran closer rebounded well after blowing a save against the Yankees during his previous trip to the mound.
