    • Notches 10th steal
Doyle went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Doyle went 6-for-30 (.200) with no multi-hit efforts over his previous nine games. In that span, he also had four steals and a 9:12 BB:K as he continues to get on base at a healthy clip despite a lofty strikeout rate that's at 28.6 percent for the year. The outfielder is slashing .273/.339/.442 with five home runs, 10 steals, 10 doubles, 15 RBI and 30 runs scored over 47 contests this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 pm

    • Collects 14th save
Suarez walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Suarez had no trouble locking down the save in the 10th inning after the Padres pulled ahead. The right-hander has still allowed just one run all season, and that was March 28 versus the Giants. His scoreless streak is at 20 innings, and he has a 0.40 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB over 22.1 innings with 14 saves and one hold on the year as one of baseball's top closers. • Doyle knocks in two, steals base in loss Thursday
Brenton Doyle went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Doyle had an RBI double in the first inning to give the Rockies a 2-0 lead. He added an RBI single in the 11th inning to make it 7-5 Rockies. The stolen base was Doyle’s 10th of the season. He’s up to .273 with a .781 OPS on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:06 pm

    • Rebounds for 14th save
Holmes earned the save in Thursday's 5-0 win over Seattle, allowing two hits while striking out a pair in 1.1 innings.

Advice: Holmes came on in relief in the eighth after Nick Burdi loaded the bases. He'd induce a grounder off the bat of Luke Raley for the final out before working around a pair of singles in the ninth to earn his 14th save. It's a nice bounce-back effort from Holmes, after he allowed four runs in a blown save against Seattle on Monday, the first four runs he's allowed this season. Overall, the 31-year-old right-hander sports a 1.64 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 22 innings this year. Rotowire.com Today, 2:46 pm
    • Continues stellar run
Gil (6-1) earned the win Thursday over the Mariners, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out eight in 6.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: Gil continues to look like a star in the Yankees' rotation -- the 25-year-old right-hander now has five straight wins and quality starts, allowing just two runs over 30.2 innings in that span. He's lowered his ERA to 2.11 on the year with a 1.01 WHIP and 70:29 K:BB through 10 starts (55.1 innings). GIl will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week on the road against the Angels. Rotowire.com Today, 2:07 pm

    • Another strong outing
Skenes didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Giants, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

Advice: While Thursday's outing wasn't as dominant as Skene's 11-strikeout performance in his last start, the rookie right-hander was still effective, coaxing a pair of key double-play balls to limit the Giants to just one run. However, the Pirates bullpen would implode late, leaving Skenes with a no-decision in an eventual 7-6 loss. Skenes now sports a 2.25 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP and an impressive 21:4 K:BB through his first three starts (16 innings). He's currently in line for a road matchup with the Tigers in his next outing. • Robert Suarez nails down 14th save against Reds
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless 10th to pick up a save against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: That’s already the 14th save of the season for Suarez; putting him at right around a 40-save pace at this stage of the season. The right-hander hasn’t just helped in that category, as the scoreless 10th puts his ERA at a sparkling 0.40 for the 2024 campaign. There were question marks about Suarez being a stopper for the Padres coming into the season. Over the first 50-plus games, that question has been answered rather emphatically. • Paul Skenes limits Giants to one run over six
Paul Skenes allowed one run over six innings with three strikeouts, but didn’t factor into the decision against the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Skenes allowed six hits and one walk. The right-hander didn’t have his best swing-and-miss stuff, and he did deal with some traffic; something he didn’t deal with at all in his six no-hit innings Friday against the Cubs. Even still, the 21-year-old was impressive again, and he now has a 2.25 ERA and a 21/4 K/BB over three starts. Next up for Skenes is a start against the Tigers on Wednesday. • Luis Gil holds M’s to one hit, strikes out eight
Luis Gil held Seattle to one hit with eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 shutout innings Thursday while picking up a win.

Advice: Another masterful outing for Gil, one that might quiet the “move to the bullpen” talk when Gerrit Cole returns to the rotation. Gil did walk two, but he was mostly dominant with the only hit being a J.P. Crawford single in the fourth. Gil has struck out 22 batters over his last two starts in 12 1/3 innings, and his ERA is a sparkling 2.11. A chance to impress again is scheduled for Wednesday against the Angels in Los Angeles.
