      The Marlins list Luzardo (back) as their probable pitcher for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Luzardo pitched with some back stiffness in his last outing in Sunday's loss to the Nationals, getting pulled after five innings and 77 pitches while displaying decreased velocity.       Brown (4-5) earned the win against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

      Advice: The only run scored against Brown came on an Andrew Benintendi solo homer in the fourth inning. Otherwise, Brown was solid again -- all six of Chicago's other hits were singles, and the right-handed hurler didn't issue any walks for the second straight outing. Brown had an awful 9.78 ERA through 23 innings across his first six starts this season, but he's since lowered that mark to 4.72. He's been especially impressive of late, racking up six straight quality starts and limiting his opponents to one run over 19 frames while posting a 22:4 K:BB across his past three outings.     • Hunter Brown holds White Sox to one run in win
      Hunter Brown held the White Sox to one run with six strikeouts over six innings to earn the win on Wednesday.

      Advice: Brown has been fantastic over his last several starts. The only run he allowed Wednesday came on a solo homer by Andrew Benintendi in the fourth inning. It was the only run he’s allowed over his last three outings. Brown scattered six other hits while striking out six batters to zero walks. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 4.72 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and an 82/29 K/BB ratio across 74 1/3 innings into a start against the Rockies in Houston on Tuesday.     • Short outing vs. Mariners
      McKenzie (3-4) took the loss Tuesday against Seattle, allowing four runs on three hits and four walks over 2.1 innings without recording a strikeout.

      Advice: After holding the Mariners scoreless through his first two innings, McKenzie allowed five of the first six batters to reach safely in the third, ultimately surrendering four runs before the Guardians turned to the bullpen. The 26-year-old McKenzie has struggled of late -- he hasn't made it through six innings in five straight starts, posting a 7.04 ERA in that span. Overall, his ERA is up to 4.48 on the season with a 1.46 WHIP and 65:42 K:BB across 70.1 innings.     • Framber Valdez surrenders two runs in loss
      Framber Valdez pitched six innings of two-run ball Tuesday in a loss to the White Sox.

      Advice: Valdez allowed just two hits, but he walked five batters, which fueled the rallies in the third and fifth innings.     • Struggles with control in loss
      Valdez (5-5) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: The Houston southpaw toiled against a weak White Sox team that entered the evening collectively batting .220 with a 7.1 percent walk rate -- both qualifying as the second-worst marks in the majors. The five walks Valdez issued were the most since his first start this season against the Yankees on March 28, when he issued six free passes. The 30-year-old now sports a 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB over 73.2 innings. Valdez faces a difficult test in his next scheduled outing, slated to come against Baltimore at home this weekend.     • McKenzie can’t escape third inning in loss
      Triston McKenzie allowed four runs on three hits in 2 1/3 while walking four and striking out nobody in a loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: This is now the fifth straight subpar start for McKenzie, who had an uptick in velocity tonight but saw no benefit from it. We know he’s pitching through an injury, and he’s just clearly not healthy when he’s out there on the mound right now. He didn’t throw a single slider in the strike zone tonight and had just a 40 percent zone rate overall. With Gavin Williams on the way back, you have to wonder if McKenzie might be in jeopardy of losing his spot in the rotation. He’ll take a 4.48 ERA into an okay matchup against the Blue Jays this weekend, but he’s simply tough to trust right now. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:20 pm

      Luzardo said that he pitched through a stiff back in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Nationals, Bally Sports Florida reports.

      Advice: The southpaw got the hook after gutting out five innings and 77 pitches, but Luzardo clearly didn't have his best stuff, and his velocity was down about two miles per hour. The Marlins haven't provided any indication that he will miss his next turn in the rotation, which lines up to come Saturday against the Mariners.       Ober (6-4) allowed one run on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over 6.1 innings to earn the win over the Athletics in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader.

      Advice: Ober had his start pushed back a day after a rainout Saturday. This was his first quality start since May 12 and the first time he's completed six innings in that span. The right-hander has had a mediocre season so far with a 4.81 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 73:20 K:BB over 73 innings through 14 starts.
