• Tyler Stephenson homers in loss
Tyler Stephenson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Advice: Stephenson took Paul Sewald deep 399 feet at 101.2 mph off the bat for his fourth home run of the season. He also had a 101.6 mph flyout and a 96.4 mph flyout on the day. Despite slashing just .213/.318/.413 on the season, Stephenson is posting an 18.5 percent barrel rate and a career-high 13 percent walk rate. He’s being far more patient at the plate and is swinging and missing less than he ever has. It’s possible he’s being too patient, but the quality of contact has been strong and he could be due for a hot streak very soon. Rotoworld 3 minutes ago
  • Kyle Finnegan notches 12th save of the season
Kyle Finnegan recorded his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Orioles.

Advice: Finnegan pitched a perfect ninth inning to close out the Orioles in the 3-0 win. The Nationals closer is now 12-of-13 in save opportunities this season and is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities this month. He and the National will look to record a two-game sweep of the Orioles in the short series on Wednesday. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Meneses tallies two hits, one RBI vs. Orioles
Joey Meneses went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, and one run scored in Tuesday’s win over the Orioles.

Advice: Meneses singled in the second inning to score Jesse Winker from second and kicked off a two-run seventh inning with a leadoff double. He also struck out with two runners in scoring position in the eighth inning with no outs. The veteran first baseman has struggled to get the bat going this season but has tallied five hits in his last five games while also drawing three walks. His double marked just his fourth extra-base hit on the season, and he remains without a homer through 119 at-bats. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Michael Soroka gives up four runs in loss to Rays
Michael Soroka was charged with four runs (three earned) over five innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Rays.

Advice: Soroka gave up three hits, including a two-run homer to Randy Arozarena. He struck out four and also issued four walks. He’ll bring a lackluster 6.34 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 20/23 K/BB ratio acoss 38 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Guardians. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
  • Ibanez on base five times in Tigers victory Tuesday
Andy Ibanez erupts for four hits, two home runs and four RBI in win over the Guardians

Advice: Ibanez was on base five times as he went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and a walk. He’s a part-time player who sees most of his at-bats against left-handed pitching, but that could change with the rest of the Tigers offense floundering. Ibanez is now 8-for-18 since returning from the injured list on April 30th. In 35 at-bats this year, he’s hitting .364. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Ian Gibaut (forearm) to undergo surgery Thursday
Ian Gibaut (forearm) is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Advice: There should be a clearer timetable for Gibaut’s potential return following the surgical procedure. The 30-year-old righty is expected to undergo either a relatively minor carpal tunnel release or a much more invasive forearm nerve procedure that would require a longer recovery time. • Nearing light activity
Bailey (concussion) could start light baseball activity Wednesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Bailey was placed on the 7-day injured list with a concussion Saturday and is now on the cusp of returning to log some activity on the field, according to manager Bob Melvin. The catcher will need to ramp up his work over a few days before he'd potentially be able to return to the lineup. In the meantime, Blake Sabol will likely continue to handle most the work behind the plate due to Tom Murphy (knee) also being unavailable. Rotowire.com Today, 5:11 pm
