    • On bench again
Hamilton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Hamilton is absent from the starting nine for the third time in the last four games, with Wednesday's contest being the first against a left-handed pitcher. Romy Gonzalez will play second base and Ceddanne Rafaela will play shortstop. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
    • Struggles in non-save scenario
Miller allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk over one inning in a 7-5 win over the Angels on Tuesday. He struck out two.

Advice: Miller had last seen action Friday, so manager Mark Kotsay opted to give his closer some work in what started as a low-leverage scenario. The fireballing right-hander inherited a 7-3 advantage going into the ninth inning and proceeded to retire two of the first three hitters he faced, but he subsequently allowed an RBI double and single to Nolan Schanuel and Luis Rengifo, respectively, to tighten matters up. Miller bore down and retired Taylor Ward on four pitches to put an end to the threat and the game, but not before allowing multiple earned runs for the first time since May 23. Despite the stumble, Miller has contributed a win and 14 saves to fantasy managers this season, accomplishing those marks with the help of a stellar 15.8 K/9. Rotowire.com Today, 9:52 am

    • George Kirby logs quality start in loss to O’s
George Kirby logged a quality start in Tuesday night’s loss to the Orioles, giving up two runs on seven hits over his 6 1/3 innings.

Advice: Kirby struck out five batters on the evening while issuing only one free pass. The Orioles scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Anthony Santander. They added another in the seventh inning on a one-out RBI single by Cedric Mullins — the final batter Kirby would face. Kirby piled up 14 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the ballgame — 11 on his heater — while posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll bring a 3.32 ERA, pristine 0.98 WHIP and a 101/10 K/BB ratio (105 2/3 innings) into Sunday’s matchup against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:15 pm
    • Bested in pitching duel
Kirby (7-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 6.1 innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Orioles.

Advice: Kirby's gone seven starts in a row without allowing more than two runs, but he didn't get any run support Tuesday. The Mariners mustered two hits and four walks but couldn't scrape together a run, leaving Kirby to take his first loss since May 24. The right-hander continues to give his team a chance to win, maintaining a 3.32 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 101:10 K:BB across 105.2 innings through 18 starts this year. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Continues strong play
Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Bellinger has started to get going after a relatively slow start to the season. He was batting .226 through the end of April but turned that around by hitting .290 in May and .279 in June. Bellinger is now off to a solid start in July, and after a nice bounce-back effort in his first season with the Cubs last year following a disappointing 2022 campaign, the 28-year-old appears primed for a strong finish to 2024. • Strikes out seven in win
Crawford (4-7) earned the win against the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with seven strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Crawford allowed a solo home run to Jake Burger in the fifth inning but was otherwise fantastic, registering a whopping 16 swinging strikes on just 72 pitches. He only threw 23 pitches in a rain-shortened start Wednesday, but he's otherwise logged quality starts in his past four non-weather-impacted outings. On the season, the 28-year-old owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 102:28 K:BB over 98.2 innings and lines up for a road matchup with the Yankees this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:16 pm
    • Bellinger has two-hit night vs. Phillies
Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Bellinger doubled in the second inning to score Nico Hoerner and give the Cubs their first run of the game. It would be the only run the Cubs would score through the first eight innings before Seiya Suzuki hit a three-run homer in a ninth-inning rally. Bellinger continues to stay hot since having his nine-game hit streak ended last week, as he’s now hit safely in three-straight games and is slashing a solid .270/.329/.421 on the season. • Kutter Crawford fans seven in victory over Marlins
Kutter Crawford struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Tuesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Crawford took full advantage of a tasty matchup against the floundering Marlins at pitcher-friendly loanDepot park on Tuesday evening, retiring eight consecutive batters to open the contest, and carried a shutout bid into the fifth inning before serving up a solo homer to Jake Burger, which represented the lone tally against him over six frames. He generated 16 swinging strikes and finished with an astronomical 46 percent CSW. He’ll carry a solid 3.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 102/28 K/BB ratio across 98 2/3 innings (17 starts) into a challenging road tilt on Sunday against the Yankees in primetime. Get your popcorn ready. • Josh Jung still dealing with right wrist soreness
Josh Jung is day-to-day with soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist.

Advice: Jung told reporters Tuesday that he hasn’t swung a bat since his last minor league rehab contest back in mid-June and they’re taking things day-by-day at the moment. The 26-year-old third baseman doesn’t appear close to rejoining the Rangers’ lineup at this point and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to return to game action. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:43 pm
