• Notches steal in win
O'Hearn went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: O'Hearn's steal was his first of the season, as the 30-year-old is not typically known for his speed. He has been fairly steady at the plate, going 9-for-33 (.273) with two extra-base hits over his last nine games. O'Hearn is at a .270/.335/.447 slash line with seven home runs, 18 RBI and 21 runs scored over 167 plate appearances. He continues to play in a strong-side platoon role, mainly as the Orioles' designated hitter. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Lifts homer Monday
Santander went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Santander has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, going 12-for-41 (.293) with four homers and eight RBI in that span. He continues to dig himself out of a rough start to 2024, though he's still at a .223/.301/.450 slash line over 54 contests. Santander has added 11 homers, 33 RBI, 31 runs scored, 11 doubles and a triple while seeing steady playing time in right field. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
  • Lands on injured list
Bae was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with an unspecified injury, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazettereports.

Advice: Bae presumably suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, during which he went 1-for-5 with a strikeout. It's unclear how long the 24-year-old will be sidelined, but he'll be eligible to rejoin the active roster June 13. Jack Suwiniski was called up in a corresponding move and should see regularly playing time going forward, especially since Michael Taylor was also placed on the paternity list. • Back with Pirates, starting Tuesday
The Pirates recalled Davis from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Davis will draw the start at catcher Tuesday against the Dodgers, manager Derek Shelton said in an interview on 93.7 The Fan. He should ultimately split starts behind the dish with veteran Yasmani Grandal. Davis was optioned in early May after a dreadful start to the season, but he rebounded at Indianapolis by slashing .296/.436/.642 with seven homers in 23 contests. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

  • Marlins officially designate Garcia for assignment
Marlins activated OF Avisail Garcia off the 10-day injured list and designated him for assignment.

Advice: Garcia is now off the 40-man roster, and he’ll all but assuredly either be released or elect free agency after he goes unclaimed. The Marlins will be on the hook for close to $25 million to Garcia. He’ll be free to join another team, but it likely will be on a minor-league pact. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
  • Goes on paternity leave
The Pirates placed Taylor on the paternity leave list Tuesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Taylor will likely miss the entirety of the three-game series against the Dodgers before returning for the weekend series versus the Twins. With Ji Hwan Bae also headed to the injured list, the Pirates have brought back Jack Suwinski. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago
  • Back in majors
The Pirates recalled Suwinski from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Suwinski's stint back in the minors lasted less than two weeks and he slashed just .250/.276/.429 with one home run and a 13:1 K:BB over 29 plate appearances with Indianapolis. However, the Pirates have a need in center field with Ji Hwan Bae going on the injured list and Michael Taylor the paternity leave list. Suwinski should draw starts at least while Taylor is away but could be sent back down once Taylor returns. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

  • Swipes bag in start
Azocar went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Azocar has gotten limited opportunities to play this season, but he made consecutive starts Sunday and Monday with the Padres facing a left-handed starter. He chipped in a double, a run, a walk and a steal over the pair of outings to make his presence felt. However, Azocar was pinch-hit for in the ninth inning Monday and is slashing a meager .234/.290/.266 over 70 plate appearances on the campaign, so he's likely to continue to work mostly as a pinch hitter/runner and defensive replacement.
