• Belts first homer
Nido went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The 30-year-old backstop took Miles Mikolas deep in the fifth inning to get the Mets on the board and give Nido his first homer in the majors since Sept. 2022. He had a hot start to the season at Triple-A and hasn't slowed down in the majors yet, going 3-for-9 while starting three of the last five games. With Omar Narvaez struggling both at the plate and in controlling the running game, the door is open for Nido to take on a significant role while Francisco Alvarez (thumb) is on the shelf. • Slugs first homer
Maldonado went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and scored twice in Friday's 9-4 win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Maldonado hasn't exactly been the greatest offensive catcher in the big leagues this season, as his sixth-inning three-run homer gave him his first three RBI of 2024. The 37-year-old is still batting just .087 on the year, and fantasy managers should not expect him to have many more games similar to Friday's showing. Rotowire.com Today, 6:15 am
  • Launches walk-off homer
Bailey went 1-for-4 with a walk-off, three run home run in Friday's 3-0 win against the Pirates.

Advice: The Giants mustered just four singles through eight innings Friday, but Bailey broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the ninth with a 378-foot shot over the wall in right field. The 24-year-old backstop hit just seven homers in 97 games as a rookie last season, but he's well on his way to eclipsing that in 2024 with three long balls through 20 contests. Bailey has been a key offensive piece for San Francisco early in the season with a .297/.365/.516 slash line, five doubles and 10 RBI in addition to the homers. Rotowire.com Today, 1:34 am
  • Homer, four hits in win
Smith went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and three total RBI in Friday's 12-2 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Smith extended Los Angeles' lead to 3-0 in the third inning with an RBI single before adding a solo home run, his second of the year, off Trevor Richards in the fourth. It's Smith's second straight four-hit game (he's gone 8-for-11 with three extra-base hits in that span) and already his fourth this season. The 29-year-old backstop is off to an excellent start, slashing a robust .376/.413/.527 with 21 RBI and 14 runs scored through his first 104 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm

  • Patrick Bailey hits walk-off homer against Pirates
Patrick Bailey hit a walk-off three-run homer to give the Giants a 3-0 win Friday over the Pirates.

Advice: After being held scoreless for eight frames, Bailey was ready to go home with a three-run blast off David Bednar in the bottom of the ninth to give the Giants the win. The second-year backstop has swung the bat well thus far in 2024, as he’s up to three homers, a .297 average and an OPS of .880. Bailey faltered after a hot start in 2023, but the 24-year-old deserves attention — especially as a player doing this at catcher. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:51 pm
  • J.T. Realmuto homers in victory over Padres
J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer Friday in a victory over the Padres.

Advice: Realmuto turned a not-so-close game into a blowout with a two-run homer to extend Philadelphia’s lead from 7-1 to 9-1. The backstop also doubled and drew a walk for a very strong fantasy night from a catcher that has provided plenty of them in his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm
  • Mitch Garver swats solo homer against D-Backs
Mitch Garver hit a solo homer in a victory Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Both Mitch’s did well for the Mariners on Friday, as Mitch Haniger hit a grand slam to go along with Garver’s shot. It’s just the second homer of the season for the 33-year-old, as he’s been awful to begin 2024 as seen in a slash of .143/.265/.271. Based on his previous seasons, it seems very likely those numbers bounce back in the coming weeks, if not sooner. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:02 pm
  • Martín Maldonado blasts three-run homer in victory
Martín Maldonado blasted a three-run homer in the sixth inning on Friday, leading the White Sox to a 9-4 victory over the Rays.

Advice: Maldonado really opened up the game with his unlikely 401-foot (105.4 mph EV) three-run blast off of Zach Eflin in the sixth inning — increasing the White Sox’ lead to 5-0. He also singled and scored a run in the eighth inning, finishing the night 2-for-4. On the season, the 37-year-old catcher is now hitting an abysmal .087/.125/.174 with just the one home run and three RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:28 pm
  • Rene Pinto drives in run in loss to White Sox
Rene Pinto went 1-for-2 with a double, walk and a run scored as the Rays fell to the White Sox on Friday evening in Chicago.

Advice: The 27-year-old backstop drove in a run with an RBI double off of Deivi Garcia in the seventh inning, then came around to score as Amed Rosario drew a bases-loaded walk. After the strong night, Pinto is now hitting .225/.304/.450 with a pair of homers and six RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm
