• Picks up first win
Hudson (1-6) allowed three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings to earn the win Monday over the Padres.

Advice: Hudson lost six of his first seven starts with the Rockies, but he was able to get in the win column Monday. While this was a road start, he gave up multiple home runs for the first time this year -- Xander Bogaerts tagged him for a solo shot in the second inning and Jurickson Profar added a two-run blast in the sixth. Hudson is now at a 6.13 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 23:25 K:BB through 39.2 innings this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in San Francisco. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

  • Takes seventh loss
Stripling (1-7) took the loss against Houston on Monday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out one batter over five innings.

Advice: Stripling was efficient in the outing, needing just 52 pitches to get through five frames. However, he was pulled before the sixth inning despite the low pitch count and despite retiring the final five batters he faced, and a fourth-inning solo homer he served up to Alex Bregman ended up being the deciding factor in sending him to his MLB-high seventh loss. Stripling at least managed to improve from a horrific outing his previous trip to the mound, when he gave up 11 runs (five earned) over 1.2 innings against Texas. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Alexis Díaz blows save, gets loss vs. Diamondbacks
Alexis Díaz blew a save while picking up a loss Monday by allowing two runs and getting just one out Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Díaz experience in 2024 has been interesting, to say the least, and probably is too kind of a description. The right-hander threw 9-of-21 pitches for strikes while issuing a pair of walks, and he gave up a two-run single to blow his second save and pick up his second loss. It seems likely that Díaz will remain the closer, but this does not look like the strong option that he was in 2023. Not yet, anyway. Rotoworld Today, 10:06 pm
  • Dakota Hudson gives up two homers, wins anyway
Dakota Hudson notched his first win Monday after allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Padres.

Advice: Hudson had a 3/3 K/BB ratio and gave up two homers, but he’s now on the board after going 0-6 in his first seven starts. The win was his first since he allowed five runs in five innings against the Braves while pitching for the Cardinals last Sept. 6. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 pm

  • Jalen Beeks walks bases loaded, gets save anyway
Jalen Beeks protected a one-run lead in the ninth for his fourth save Monday against the Padres.

Advice: Beeks walked three in the frame before a double-play ball from Manny Machado ended the game. Beeks is pretty clearly the closer in Colorado at the moment, but pick him up at your own risk. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 pm

  • Randy Vásquez allows five runs, fans none in loss
Randy Vásquez was tagged for five runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings Monday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Vasquez, who has lost both of his starts since replacing Joe Musgrove, was probably somewhat unlucky to give up eight hits, but he also didn’t strike out a single batter, which isn’t good. The Padres might want to try someone else next time through the rotation. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 pm

  • Matthew Liberatore pulled in fourth vs. Angels
Matthew Liberatore was charged for four runs while working 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Angels.

Advice: Liberatore was given the chance to start Monday against a not-so-good Los Angeles lineup, but he didn’t take advantage of the situation. The southpaw was able to get out of the first two innings unscathed, but he gave up a four-spot in the third while picking up just a single strikeout in the contest. Liberatore may start again, but his fantasy value is limited, particularly since he’s not fully stretched out. Rotoworld Today, 9:33 pm

  • Jose Soriano blanks Cardinals into sixth inning
Jose Soriano blanked the Cardinals over 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts, but he didn’t factor in the decision Monday.

Advice: Soriano deserved better, as he allowed just two hits throughout the outing. He did issue three walks, but anytime there was traffic the 25-year-old was able to make a key pitch to get out of the jam. Soriano lowers his ERA to 3.72, and for the most part, he’s looked like a competent starter — albeit one who has limitations in fantasy because of his poor team behind him and a likely inning limit. • Andrés Muñoz strikes out three in four-out save
Andrés Muñoz struck out three while going 1 1/3 scoreless innings Monday to get a save against the Royals.

Advice: The Mariners won this game by four runs, but because the right-hander came in with the score 4-2, he still gets credit for the save. That’s the sixth of the season for the 25-year-old, and he’s lowered his ERA to an aesthetically pleasing 1.62 in the process. Muñoz has been one of the best relievers in baseball for the first quarter of the season, and it should continue through the summer months. Rotoworld Today, 9:17 pm
