  • Suwinski goes deep Monday
    Jack Suwinski went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Pirates’ win over the Brewers on Monday.



    Advice: Suwinski took Brewers starter Colin Rea deep with a man on and two outs in the first inning. It was his third home run of the season. Suwinski hit .224 with 26 home runs in 144 games last year. He could get hot, but right now his .178 average is untenable.

    Bryan Reynolds went 5-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and two RBI in the victory over the Brewers on Monday.



    Advice: Reynolds boosted his average to .256 on the season with this effort. His power was noticeably down this season as entering Monday his .145 ISO was 51 points lower than his career .196 ISO. Reynolds’ ISO is now up to .171 on the season. More games like this will help him get back to his career level quickly.

    Advice: Lopez took advantage of his third-straight start in place of Tim Anderson by collecting his fourth hit and second homer during that short stretch of games. Lopez has played 17 games this season totaling 32 at-bats, hitting .313 with three homers, six RBI, eight runs and a steal. Lopez has displayed a nice hit tool throughout his seven-year rise through the minors, topping .300 in three separate seasons, but the recent power surge is not consistent with his expected profile.     Bryson Stott went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday, powering the Phillies to a 5-4 win over the Mets in a 10-inning marathon.

    Advice: Stott delivered late for Philadelphia, taking Mets stopper Edwin Díaz deep to lead off the ninth inning before tacking on a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ensuing frame to put the Phillies ahead for good in a back-and-forth slugfest at Citi Field. The 26-year-old infielder has been on an absolute heater of late, batting .433 (13-for-30) with one homer and five steals in nine contests since the start of May, which obviously doesn’t include a two-homer explosion back on April 28.     Advice: The double was Tucker’s eighth of the season. He has carried the Astros so far this year. Tucker’s average is up to .277 and his OPS is up to .994. He has another three games to beat up on the Athletics this week.

    Advice: Reynolds was unstoppable Monday. He had four hits through seven innings, including an RBI double in the third, before capping off his big night with a solo shot to lead off the ninth. He snapped a 13-game homerless drought, during which he registered an ugly .526 OPS.     Advice: It was Bleday’s second game in a row with two hits. He’s had at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. Bleday attempted a stolen base for the first time this season and was caught. He stole five bases in 80 games with Oakland last season. His .193 ISO so far this season is a career high. With the RBI Monday, he’s up to 18 RBI on the season.
