      Advice: Gore struggled against the team that drafted him, as the Padres put up multiple runs in the first and fifth innings. The southpaw has lost three of his five starts in June, giving up 18 runs (17 earned) over 26.1 innings.       MacKenzie Gore surrendered five runs in five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Gore was lucky not to be tossed at the beginning of this one, as he hit Jurickson Profar in the back leg with a pitch right after warnings were issued because of some thoroughly unnecessary jawing and a benches-clearing incident. Gore’s pitch, though, didn’t seem to be intentional. It did lead to an ejection anyway, as Padres manager Mike Shildt was ejected for taking issue with Gore not being tossed.       Sewald allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Sewald needed 17 pitches (nine strikes) to close out this contest, earning his 10th save in as many chances this year. He's on a 13.2-inning scoreless streak -- the only run he's allowed this year came in his season debut after he started the year on the injured list.       Paul Sewald recorded his 10th save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Twins.

      Advice: Sewald gave up a two-out double to Byron Buxton, putting the tying run on base. Ryan Jeffers followed with a stinging liner to left, but it was hit right to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., ending the game.       Irvin (6-4) took the loss against the Guardians on Tuesday, allowing eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits with no walks and one strikeout over four innings.

      Advice: Irvin allowed three runs in the first two innings and then five runs in a disastrous fifth frame that included a three-run home run by Jose Ramirez. An error in the fifth resulted in four of the runs being unearned, but the lefty allowed 10 hard-hit balls and only generated five swinging strikes in his second consecutive rough outing. Irvin has yielded 13 runs (nine earned) in those two outings and now owns a 3.74 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 74:15 K:BB in 77 innings this season.       Cole Irvin was lit up for eight runs (four earned) over four innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Irvin was torched for 10 hits, including a three-run homer by José Ramírez in the fourth inning prior to his early exit. He notched only one strikeout and didn’t issue a walk. He’ll face the Rangers on Sunday his next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm

    • Notches second save of June
      McArthur earned a save against the Marlins on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

      Advice: McArthur entered in the ninth frame with Kansas City up by three runs and made quick work of Miami, retiring the side in order on 10 pitches. That netted him his first save since June 6 and his 13th overall this season. McArthur's 18-day span between saves was of no fault of his own -- he didn't see any save opportunities during that stretch, and the only save by any KC pitcher during that period came in a game during which McArthur was used in a high-leverage spot and ended up with the victory.       Matt Waldron pitched six innings of two-run ball Monday against the Nationals.

      Advice: Waldron struck out eight in a sixth straight quality start. He threw the knuckler 46 times tonight and wound up with nothing but soft contact against the pitch.       Waldron allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision versus the Nationals on Monday.

      Advice: Waldron rattled off his sixth straight quality start, and he's gone nine outings without allowing more than two runs. The run support wasn't there for him Monday, leaving him to take his fifth no-decision of the season. Waldron is at a 3.43 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 84:27 K:BB over 89.1 innings through 16 starts.
