    • Homer, three RBI in win
Gurriel went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 12-4 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Gurriel knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning then homered in the sixth to plate another two runs. The outfielder continued to hit in July after a highly productive June. Since June 1, Gurriel is 35-for-105 (.333) with six home runs, 20 RBI and eight additional runs scored over 28 games. • Logs second steal
Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Cronenworth notched his first multi-hit effort since June 21 and his first steal since May 6 with a strong performance Wednesday. The infielder hit .250 with eight extra-base hits and 15 RBI over 27 contests in June. For the year, he's at a .260/.325/.437 slash line, 12 home runs, two steals, 53 RBI and 45 runs scored across 85 games. He's played fairly well, but he may slip out of an everyday role once Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) returns from the injured list later in July. Bogaerts had played primarily at second base prior to his injury, though Cronenworth or Luis Arraez could ultimately share first base and designated hitter to keep both of their bats in the lineup. • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. slugs three-run homer in victory
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and two runs scored against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Gurriel Jr. put the Diamondbacks on the board with a sacrifice fly in the first inning to bring home the first run. He later slugged a two-run homer in the sixth to extend the lead. Gurriel Jr. then doubled in the eighth and scored on a double by Eugenio Suárez. The 30-year-old outfielder is hitting .268/.301/.430 with 12 homers and 51 RBI across 339 plate appearances. • Ryan O’Hearn drives in three in win vs. Mariners
Ryan O’Hearn went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, three RBI, and a walk in the Orioles’ 4-1 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: O’Hearn had a big day at the plate against Seattle, starting with a walk in the first inning. Then he doubled in the third to put the Orioles on the board with two runs and scored on a single by Ryan Mountcastle. O’Hearn later slugged a solo homer off Logan Gilbert to extend the lead in the fifth. The 30-year-old first baseman is slashing .294/.355/.485 with 11 homers and 37 RBI across 259 plate appearances. • Brent Rooker collects three hits, homers vs. Angels
Brent Rooker went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in the Athletics’ 5-0 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Rooker knocked a base hit in the third inning, then led off the sixth with a solo blast off Davis Daniel. He added another single in the seventh for his third hit of the game. The 29-year-old slugger is hitting .269/.343/.530 with 17 homers, 49 RBI, and three steals across 300 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:04 pm
    • Bobby Witt Jr. on base three times in win
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, two runs scored, and a walk on Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Witt paced the Royals in this one and was the engine for their offense. His third inning double got them on the board and a key walk in the seventh set Salvador Perez up for his huge two-run single to put this game out of reach. Witt remains one of the most productive and dependable players in baseball with a .314/.366/.543 slash line to go along with 13 home runs and 22 stolen bases. That’s not a bad first half for a 24-year-old. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:13 pm
    • Daulton Varsho with two hits, RBI for Blue Jays
Daulton Varsho went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Wednesday against the Astros.

Advice: The Blue Jays once again shook up their lineup and Varsho landed in the fifth spot with George Springer back to lead-off and Bo Bichette fourth. Regardless, it still could not spark their struggling offense. Varsho briefly got his average back above the Mendoza-line before it sunk back to .199. He and nearly every Blue Jays’ hitter has been a disappointment this season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:13 pm
    • Willson Contreras swats two-run homer in defeat
Willson Contreras hit a two-run homer on Wednesday in the Cardinals’ extra-inning loss at the hands of the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras walloped a game-tying shot off Pirates reliever Colin Holderman, who has been outstanding this season in a setup role for Pittsburgh, in the eighth inning to help send this one to extra innings. It was his lone hit in three at-bats, but he also drew a pair of walks in this one. It was the first big fly for the 32-year-old veteran backstop since returning from the injured list back on June 24. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:50 pm
    • Homers in loss
Witt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer during Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt's home run in the sixth inning cut Tampa Bay's lead to 2-1, but it would also end up being the only way the Royals got on the board in a 5-1 defeat. The 24-year-old shortstop remains one of the most reliable bats in baseball, recording a hit in seven of his last eight games while posting a 1.015 OPS in that span. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:39 am
