      Lodolo (3-1) yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore.

      Advice: Lodolo got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He held the Orioles in check afterward until Adley Rutschman knocked an RBI double in the fifth. Lodolo had allowed just five runs over 24 innings to begin his 2024 campaign before Sunday's hiccup. Despite the poor outing, he owns a 2.79 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB through five starts.     • José Alvarado gives up homer, closes out Giants
      José Alvarado served up a solo homer in the ninth inning on Sunday night, but was still able to close out the Giants to protect a one-run lead and secure his seventh save of the season.

      Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw gave up a one-out solo blast to Jakson Reetz that pulled the Giants to within a run, but he battled back to strike out Nick Ahmed and got Jung Hoo Lee on a fly ball to right field to end it. He has now recorded seven of the team’s 12 total saves on the season while registering a 4.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 15/7 K/BB ratio across his 14 2/3 frames. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:11 pm
       
    • Nick Lodolo struggles in start vs Orioles
      Nick Lodolo allowed four runs on four hits in five innings in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

      Advice: It wasn’t all bad for Lodolo, who struck out six and walked two while posting a 30 percent whiff rate and 31 percent CSW. Lodolo struggled out of the gates, allowing three runs on three hits in the first inning before settling down.     • Out with elbow inflammation
      The Padres placed Musgrove on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right elbow inflammation.

      Advice: Musgrove was expected to start Tuesday against the Cubs but will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. It's unclear when the injury surfaced for the right-hander, who struck out nine and allowed two runs over six innings his last time out versus the Cubs. According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, there's hope Musgrove will be able to return from the injured list when first eligible May 17 in Atlanta.     • Joe Musgrove heads to IL with triceps tendinitis
      Padres placed RHP Joe Musgrove on the 15-day injured list with right triceps tendinitis.

      Advice: Musgrove was excellent in his start Wednesday against the Red with nine strikeouts and two runs allowed over six innings, but it appears not everything went well in that outing. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the move is “precautionary,” so it’s possible he will only miss a couple of starts before rejoining San Diego’s rotation.       Anthony Rizzo is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

      Naylor went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's 7-1 victory against the Angels.

      Advice: The contest was relatively close heading into the bottom of the sixth frame, as Cleveland held a narrow 3-1 lead. However, Angels starter Reid Detmers walked three batters in the inning, and Naylor made him pay for the wildness by crushing a two-out grand slam. The homer nearly doubled Naylor's season RBI total from five to nine, and it snapped a 15-game stretch without a long ball. Aside from Saturday's big blast, it's been a pretty rough season for the backstop, as he's slashing just .183/.280/.305 with a massive 38.7 percent strikeout rate through 93 plate appearances.     • Bo Naylor crushes grand slam, Guardians rout Angels
      Bo Naylor walloped a grand slam on Saturday, leading the Guardians to a decisive 7-1 victory over the Angels.

      Advice: Naylor’s first career grand slam came off Angels starter Reid Detmers in the sixth inning and wound up putting the contest away for good. It was his third big fly of the season and first time he’s left the yard since April 10. The 24-year-old former top prospect has gotten off to an extremely slow start this season at the plate, but continues to play regularly as Cleveland’s backstop of the future.
