    • Steals base in loss
Garcia went 0-for-3 with a walk and a steal in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Garcia stole his seventh bag of the season in fourth inning then was thrown out at home trying to score on Leody Taveras' single. Garcia, who stole 25 bases (31 attempts) in 2022, is an occasional base stealer these days. He was successful on nine of 10 attempts last year and seven of nine thus far in 2024. Thursday's walk extended Garcia's on-base streak to 14 games (.350 OBP). Rotowire.com Today, 6:15 am

    • Registers second steal
Naylor went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one stolen base in Thursday's 8-4 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Naylor has gone 13-for-36 (.361) with seven extra-base hits and eight RBI over his last 12 contests. His steal Thursday was his second of the campaign on three attempts. While he doesn't offer much speed, he's started to hit well enough to maintain steady playing time behind the dish, though he's at a .203/.272/.330 slash line through 61 games overall. Austin Hedges is backing up Naylor at catcher while David Fry has seen most of his recent playing time at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:13 pm

    • Three RBI in win
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Crawford ripped a bases-loaded double to put the Mariners ahead in the seventh inning, then scored on a Mitch Garver home run. Prior to Thursday, Crawford had gone 2-for-20 with two walks and a steal over his previous five games. The shortstop is at a .212/.307/.355 slash line with seven home runs, 28 RBI, 34 runs scored and five steals across 64 games this season, mainly serving as the Mariners' leadoff hitter. • Bo Naylor drives in two, steals base in victory
Bo Naylor went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base Thursday in a victory over the White Sox.

Advice: It’s the second steal of the season for Naylor. The 24-year-old drove in two with a single in the third to extend Cleveland’s lead to 5-1. Naylor has long-term appeal, but a .210/.277/.333 slash helps tell the story that it’s just theory at this stage of his career. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:59 pm

    • Mike Trout has begun hitting off a tee
Angels manager Ron Washington said that Mike Trout “has begun running on a treadmill and hitting off a tee.”

Advice: It would be very impressive to do those at the same time, but we’ll assume Trout is separating those activities. Still, it’s nice to see the 32-year-old making progress in his return from knee surgery. It was reported that Trout was running on a treadmill back in May, but taking swings has been a new development. The veteran says he wants to return before the end of July, so he may begin a rehab stint after the All-Star break if he continues to progress. Of course, the Angels have absolutely no need to rush him back this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:33 pm

    • Thomson: Schwaber could return on Tuesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said “it’s possible” that Kyle Schwarber (groin) could return on Tuesday when the Phillies begin their series against the Dodgers.

Advice: Schwarber is already running at 90% on the field and has not yet been on the IL for a week, so he likely wouldn’t need any rehab assignment if he progresses quickly. There are a few days to go, but it sounds like we might get a minimum stay for Schwarber on the IL. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:23 pm

    • Runs on treadmill
Angels manager Ron Washington said Thursday that Trout (knee) has started running on a treadmill, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: It's a big step in Trout's recovery as he works his way back from surgery on a torn meniscus in early May. He has also done some hitting on the field. Trout said this past weekend that he expected to return from the injured list by late July, although he certainly has some markers he needs to hit first before making that happen. • Working out at 90 percent intensity
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Thursday that Schwarber (groin) is going through drills at 90 percent intensity, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Advice: Meanwhile, Thomson pegged Bryce Harper (hamstring) and J.T. Realmuto (knee) at 70-to-75 percent as they go through drills. While it's possible all three players make it back prior to the All-Star break, Schwarber would appear to have the best shot to do so. He's coming back from a left groin strain. • Strikes out two for 21st save
Kimbrel picked up the save over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out two.

Advice: Kimbrel entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and fanned the first two batters he faced before getting Julio Rodriguez to pop out to first for the final out. The veteran reliever has converted each of his last five save attempts, posting a 9:3 K:BB over that stretch while not allowing any hits. Kimbrel has also recorded two or more strikeouts in four of his last five appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:08 am
