    • Another rehab start coming
Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cole made his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Somerset, firing 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He threw 45 pitches and touched 97 miles per hour, which is in line with his normal velocity. Cole should see his pitch count lightened Sunday, though he'll likely need at least one more rehab outing before coming off the 60-day IL. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Gerrit Cole’s next rehab start slated for Sunday
Gerrit Cole’s second rehab start as he returns from an elbow injury will come for Double-A Somerset on Sunday.

Advice: Cole also pitched at Somerset his first time out. He’s expected to make at least one more rehab start in addition to this weekend’s. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

    • Getting day off
Kwan is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Miami.

Advice: The Guardians have now mixed in two off days for Kwan in the outfielder's first week back from the injured list as they ease him into things. David Fry will be the left fielder Friday and Tyler Freeman will be elevated to the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Senga to throw bullpen next week
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session early next week, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Advice: The Mets believe the 31-year-old right-hander is trending in the right direction. A bullpen session would represent significant progress, though Senga is still without a clear timetable for returning. He’s been out all season recovering from a shoulder injury. Rotoworld Today, 9:16 am

    • Records first steal Thursday
Raleigh went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: The slugging backstop played some small ball Thursday, recording his first steal since 2022. Raleigh is in a 13-game homer drought, and he has only one extra-base hit, a double, over his last 44 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:44 am

    • Mound work coming soon
Senga (shoulder) is expected to throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Senga recently had a setback in his recovery from a right shoulder injury when he experienced some tightness in his triceps. He was shut down for a bit after being given a cortisone injection, but he's almost ready to resume mound work. The expectation is that Senga won't make his season debut until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 6:31 am

    • Corbin Carroll records three hits in Arizona’s win
Corbin Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double, a steal and two runs scored as the Diamondbacks edged the Padres 4-3 on Thursday.

Advice: It’s just Carroll’s second three-hit game of the year. All three of Carroll’s hits were legit, leaving his bat on a line at 108, 106 and 99 mph. It’s definitely his most encouraging game in weeks and maybe of the entire season. At .201, he finished the game over the Mendoza Line for the first time since May 12. • Paul Sewald turns in hitless inning for save
Paul Seward pitched a hitless ninth with a one-run lead for his seventh save Thursday against the Padres.

Advice: Sewald has been about as tough as ever since returning from an oblique strain a month ago. He has a 0.87 ERA and is 7-for-7 saving games this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:11 pm

    • Nabs 10th steal
Carroll went 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Padres.

Advice: Carroll's three-hit effort got his batting average over .200 for the first time since May 12. He's opened June 5-for-21 (.238) over six contests, and his steal Thursday was his first since May 25. The outfielder is slashing .201/.284/.291 with two home runs, 10 thefts, 20 RBI, 30 runs scored, seven doubles and four triples over 61 games in a disappointing sophomore campaign.
