    • Goes yard again
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Thursday's 7-5 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Lowe has generated at least one hit in all eight starts since coming off the IL and tallied his second homer in the Boston series Thursday. He tagged Cooper Criswell for a two-run shot in the third inning to put the Rays ahead 3-1. Lowe owns a .957 OPS in 38 plate appearances this season with four runs scored. • Lowe leaves the yard Thursday
Josh Lowe went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI against the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: It was Lowe’s second home run of the season. He hit an 0-2 pitch from Cooper Criswell into the right field bullpen that looked like it could’ve been caught by outfielder Wilyer Abreu. Lowe started the season on the IL, but he’s now hitting .294 with a .956 OPS. He really just needs to stay healthy for another big season.

    • Shane Baz (elbow) fills up strike zone on Thursday
Shane Baz (elbow) allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings on Thursday for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Baz struck out three and only issued a pair of walks. He generated only five swinging strikes, but was able to locate the strike zone effectively, throwing a whopping 49 of 69 pitches for strikes. It was a much-needed improvement after handing out five free passes his last time out. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect remains without a definitive timetable to return to Tampa Bay’s starting rotation as he continues to build up his pitch count and stamina in the minors. • Out of lineup again Thursday
DeLuca is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Boston.

Advice: It marks the third time in four games that DeLuca will be on the bench. This is after he had started the previous nine contests in a row. The recent returns of Josh Lowe and Jonathan Aranda have impacted DeLuca's playing time, and the Rays also could be re-committing to Jose Siri in handing him five starts across the last six tilts. • Closing in on rehab stint
Murphy (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment next week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The catcher has been out since Opening Day after suffering an oblique strain, and Atlanta has taken things slowly with him so far. Murphy now appears to be in the final stages of his recovery, but given the amount of time he's missed, his rehab assignment could last more than just a few days. Travis d'Arnaud will continue handling catching duties until Murphy returns, backed up by Chadwick Tromp. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:34 am

    • Resting Thursday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Jeffers will get some maintenance in Thursday's day game after he caught all nine innings of the Twins' 4-0 loss Wednesday night. Christian Vazquez will check in for Jeffers behind the dish. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:14 am

    • Sharp in first win
Woo (1-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Royals, allowing one run on three hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander pounded the zone, firing 60 of his 79 pitches for strikes, but after five scoreless innings Woo ran out of gas in the sixth and left the mound with runners on the corners and one out, clinging to a 2-1 lead. Gabe Speier was able to escape the jam, however, and the Seattle bullpen took care of the rest. Woo has been impressive in two starts since making his belated season debut, giving up just one run in 9.2 innings with an 8:2 K:BB, but he faces a tough test in his next outing -- a road start at Yankee Stadium early next week. • Fans six in victory
Bradley (1-1) earned the win over Boston on Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six batters over five innings.

Advice: Bradley wasn't quite as sharp as he was in his season debut Friday versus the Yankees, when he gave up just one run and struck out seven batters over six innings, but a big difference Wednesday was that he went home with a win. The promising 23-year-old got a late start to the season after injuring his pectoral in spring training and subsequently landing on the injured list, but he's impressed in two starts since his return as he attempts to solidify the back of Tampa Bay's rotation. Bradley's next start is tentatively projected to be a rematch against Boston, this time at home. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:02 pm

    • Freddie Freeman collects two hits, scores run in loss
Freddie Freeman went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a walk against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Freeman drew a walk in the third inning, then knocked a base hit in the fifth. He reached for a third time with a single to lead off the eighth and came around to score on a single and a sacrifice fly. The 34-year-old first baseman is hitting .297/.408/.455 with four homers, 26 runs scored, 24 RBI, and one steal across 201 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:15 pm
