While he's had a good season to date -- one that's generating All-Star buzz from Arizona Sports -- Marte can be even more productive if Corbin Carroll's bat stays hot ahead of him in the lineup. Carroll's batting .340 over the last 12 games, and Marte has driven in 10 runs during that stretch. For the season, Marte has an .863 OPS, 15 home runs, 42 RBI, three steals and 50 runs scored.     Advice: Castro put Minnesota ahead briefly in a topsy-turvy marathon at Target Field with a bases-clearing double in the fourth inning off Rays starter Aaron Civale. He also recorded another double and walked in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot.     Advice: Loftin hit his first career homer off Hogan Harris in the second inning, tying the game at 2-2. While Loftin has seen a steady run at second base, he entered Tuesday on an 0-for-14 skid that could jeopardize his playing time. He's slashing .253/.351/.304 with 12 RBI, 13 runs scored and no stolen bases over 95 plate appearances this season. Michael Massey (back) began a rehab assignment Tuesday, so Loftin's time in a starting role -- and potentially in the majors -- could come to a close when Massey is ready to return to the Royals.     Nick Loftin collected his first major league homer Tuesday off Oakland’s Hogan Harris.

    Advice: Loftin’s homer came in his 160th plate appearance since he debuted last year. He’s batting .253/.351/.304 in 95 plate appearances while helping to fill in for Michael Massey this season.     Ernie Clement went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

    Advice: Clement doubled in the second inning to score Justin Turner and Addison Barger, giving the Jays an early 2-1 lead. Clement has now hit safely in three straight games and has four RBI to his name over that stretch. Clement is batting a blistering .429 in the month of June with six RBI and six extra-base hits.     Manager Brandon Hyde said that Westburg was diagnosed with a bruised left hip following Tuesday's loss to the Yankees, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

    Advice: Westburg collided with Juan Soto during the first inning of Tuesday's contest and eventually had to leave the game in the second.
