    • Excels in first rehab start
Cole (elbow) completed 3.1 scoreless innings in a minor-league rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday, allowing two hits and striking out five batters.

Advice: In the first of what is expected to be multiple rehab outings, Cole threw 45 pitches and hit 97 mph on the radar gun, per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic. The veteran hurler surrendered a single to the first batter he faced but yielded just one more hit over the remainder of his outing. The beginning of Cole's rehab stint couldn't have gone much better, but he still figures to need at least a couple more appearances in the minors before he's ready to join the Yankees' rotation. If he doesn't experience any setbacks, the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner could make his season debut for the big club in the latter half of June. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • Settles in for fifth win
Pepiot (4-2) earned the win over the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Pepiot got off to an ugly start Tuesday, allowing three runs in the opening frame. However, he'd proceed to blank Miami over his final five frames while allowing just one additional hit while the Rays rallied for a 9-5 victory. The 26-year-old Pepiot now has 15 strikeouts over his last two starts (11.2 innings). His ERA sits at 3.96 on the season with a 0.96 WHIP and 59:16 K:BB across 10 outings (52.1 innings). Pepiot is currently in line for a home matchup with Baltimore early next week in his next start. Rotowire.com Today, 9:50 pm

    • Jeremy Peña drives in two in win over Cardinals
Jeremy Peña went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Peña doubled off of Andre Pallante in the third inning to drive in Alex Bregman and give the Astros a 3-1 lead. He later hit a sacrifice fly to again drive in Bregman while pushing the Astros’ lead to 7-2. Peña is now hitting .302 on the season with five homers, 23 RBI, and nine stolen bases. His 71 hits are tied for ninth-most in the majors, as he continues to be a staple in a potent Astros lineup. Rotoworld Today, 8:50 pm

    • Max Fried strikes out 13 in win over Boston
Max Fried allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Fried also struck out 13 on the day while walking just one. He did give up a home run to Dominic Smith, but it was the only extra-base hit he allowed in the game. He got 21 whiffs on 50 swings for an impressive 42 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. This Red Sox lineup is clearly short-handed due to injuries, but Fried was masterful on Tuesday and now has a 2.93 ERA on the year. He should be in line for another good start against the Nationals this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 7:25 pm

    • Josh Bell has two hits in loss to Rays
Josh Bell went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday.

Advice: Bell is coming off a solid month of May, where he slashed .311//365/.466 with three home runs and 18 RBI in 27 games. He’s carried that over into June, going 4-for-12 in his first three games of the month. The 31-year-old is a likely trade candidate this summer and could benefit from a change of scenery, especially if he’s going to keep hitting as well as he has been. He could be a well-timed stash in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 7:07 pm

    • Career day against BoSox
Fried (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Boston, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out 13.

Advice: Fried recorded a career-high number of strikeouts Tuesday, surpassing 10 Ks for the first time since 2019. The southpaw yielded his first long ball in five starts, as lefty-hitting Dominic Smith launched a solo homer in the third inning. Fried has logged a quality start in six of his last eight outings, a stretch in which he owns a 1.57 ERA and a 55:13 K:BB over 57.1 innings. He's scheduled to face the Nationals in Washington on Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:07 pm

    • Ryan Pepiot has quality start in win
Ryan Pepiot allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pepiot struck out eight and walked none and now has 15 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts. The 26-year-old earned 13 whiffs on his four-seam fastball and 17 whiffs overall on 52 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. His first season in Tampa Bay has been a success thanks in part to better fastball usage up in the zone. He’ll carry a 3.96 ERA into a tough start against the Orioles next week. • Anthony Volpe extends on-base streak to 30 games
Anthony Volpe singled on Tuesday in the Yankees’ win over the Twins, extending his on-base streak to 30 consecutive games.

Advice: Volpe extended his on-base streak, which is tied with teammate Aaron Judge for the longest in baseball this season, by slicing a third-inning single into shallow right field before racing around the bases to score on Judge’s two-run double later in the frame. • Seth Lugo wears down late against Guardians
Seth Lugo allowed five runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Guardians.

Advice: Lugo started the game with three scoreless innings before allowing three runs in the fourth. However, he settled down and threw two more scoreless innings but the Royals brought him back out for the seventh where he allowed a single and a two-run home runs before being pulled from the game. Lugo posted a 27 percent CSW on the night and induced eight whiffs on 46 swings. He doesn’t miss many bats, but he has been tremendous this season with a 2.16 ERA. He should certainly be started this weekend against the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 6:20 pm
