    • Slugs fifth homer
Jimenez went 3-for-7 with a walk, a double and a solo home run across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader split with the Nationals.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugger took Trevor Williams deep in the second inning of the matinee, the first homer the Washington right-hander has served up in 2024. Jimenez could be heating up after a quiet start to the season -- over the last seven games, he's gone 7-for-27 (.259) with three doubles and a homer. Tuesday's RBI was his first since May 5 though, and through 30 contests he's slashing just .221/.276/.389 with five home runs and 12 RBI. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Nick Pivetta bounces back with solid effort vs TB
Nick Pivetta allowed two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays.

Advice: Pivetta struck out eight on the day while walking none, but he was doomed by two solo home runs. The right-hander got back on track after his rough return from the IL, posting a 29 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. His sweeper was particularly dominant, getting five whiffs on eight swings and posting a 47 percent CSW. Pivetta also threw his curveball 1.3 mph harder than usual and found some success with it, so that’s something to watch for future starts. He’ll take a 3.48 ERA into an appealing start against a reeling Cardinals offense this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm

    • Simulating innings Wednesday
Miller (shoulder) will throw two simulated innings at the Dodgers' complex in Arizona on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Assuming all goes well Wednesday, Miller will move onto either a three-inning sim game or begin a rehab assignment with one of the Dodgers' minor-league affiliates. Either way, the 25-year-old right-hander will most likely require multiple appearances in the minors as he continues building up to a starter's workload. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:15 pm

    • Bobby Miller set for another sim game Wednesday
Bobby Miller (shoulder) will face hitters on Wednesday in a two-inning simulated game.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Miller will progress to either a three-inning simulated game or a minor league rehab assignment, if he gets through Wednesday’s session without any issues. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty is working his way back from right shoulder inflammation that put him on the shelf back in mid-April. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:11 pm

    • Absent from lineup
Nootbaar is not in Tuesday's lineup versus the Angels.

Advice: Tuesday will mark Nootbaar's first day off since making a delayed season debut April 12 after a stint on the injured list due to fractured ribs. Brendan Donovan, Mike Siani and Dylan Carlson make up the starting outfield for the Cardinals on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:55 pm

    • Austin Riley sitting out again Tuesday vs. Cubs
Austin Riley (side) remains absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: The Braves received positive news earlier this week when an MRI revealed only left side inflammation rather than an oblique strain. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart remains day-to-day and appears likely to avoid a trip to the injured list at the moment. He should benefit from Thursday’s off-day giving him additional time to rest and recover, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him return for Friday’s series opener against the Padres. • Remains out Tuesday
Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Atlanta received good news when an MRI revealed merely inflammation in Riley's left side rather than a strain. However, he is likely still sore and will miss a second straight start. With a scheduled off day coming Thursday, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Atlanta hold Riley out until Friday just to be safe. Zack Short is getting another start at third base Tuesday. • Collects sixth save
Munoz earned a save against the Royals on Monday, striking out three batters in 1.1 perfect innings.

Advice: Munoz was summoned from the bullpen in the top of the eighth inning with two outs, Seattle up by two runs and the tying run at the plate. He struck out Nelson Velazquez to end the threat, then got some stress reduction when the Mariners' offense put up two runs in the bottom of the frame. From there, Munoz closed things out without incident, fanning two of the three batters he squared off against in the ninth frame. The save was his sixth of the season and first since April 30, though no other Seattle pitcher recorded a save in the meantime. Munoz has looked great since his lone blown save of the campaign April 21, tossing 9.1 scoreless frames during which he's posted a 10:1 K:BB across eight appearances. • Strikes out seven in no-decision
Montgomery allowed three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Reds on Monday.

Advice: Montgomery turned in an okay outing, missing out on a quality start for the second time in five games for the Diamondbacks. He's pitched to a 4.76 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB over 28.1 innings this season. Montgomery's had a bit of trouble racking up strikeouts so far as he's had to get up to speed on the job after signing with Arizona in late March. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:16 pm
