    • On base four times in loss
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Mets.

Advice: The 27-year-old slugger consistently got himself into scoring position, but the rest of the Houston lineup had trouble bringing him around. Since missing a couple games earlier in the month to attend to a personal matter, Alvarez has gone 9-for-27 (.333) in seven contests with three doubles, two homers, four RBI and five runs. Friday's steal was also his career-high fourth of the season -- he came into 2024 with only two in 482 career games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm

    • Strikes out nine Friday
Ober allowed a run on two hits and three walks while striking out nine over six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Ober left the game in line for the lead, but Griffin Jax allowed the tying run in the eighth inning. Ober has been absolutely dialed in over his last three starts, allowing just four runs with a 27:5 K:BB across 21.1 innings in that span. He's now at a 4.30 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 92:23 K:BB through 88 innings over 16 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Tigers. • Hit streak at 12 games
Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 16-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: The infielder took Michael Tonkin deep in the sixth inning, giving Kiner-Falefa his seventh long ball of the season, one off his career high. He's also hit safely in 12 straight games, batting a blistering .395 (17-for-43) over that stretch with three homers, six RBI and 10 runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:48 pm

    • Bailey Ober fans nine in no-decision vs. Mariners
Bailey Ober held the Mariners to one run with nine strikeouts in six innings in a no-decision.

Advice: Ober wasn’t as good as he was in his complete game against Oakland, but it was another pretty strong outing. The right-hander’s only run allowed shouldn’t have happened, as Christian Vazquez couldn’t hold onto a ball that would have had Mitch Haniger out by about 15 feet if it doesn’t get by him. He’s struck out 19 hitters in his last two outings, and his ERA is now down to 4.30. He’s scheduled to square off against the Tigers next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:32 pm

    • Fans eight in win
Rea (7-2) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Rea looked strong aside from a speed bump in the fourth inning. He gave up a solo shot to Seiya Suzuki before Dansby Swanson drove in another run. Rea set new season highs with eight strikeouts and 15 whiffs, including six via the sinker. He hasn't lost a start since May 19; in seven outings since then, he's 4-0 with a 3.03 ERA. Rea is now sporting a 3.61 ERA and 62:28 K:BB through 87.1 innings. His next start is projected to be in Colorado. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm

    • Colin Rea strikes out season-best eight in win
Colin Rea allowed two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in a victory against the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: Rea’s eight strikeouts topped his previous season high by six. For the year, he’s sporting a 16.8% strikeout rate, down from 21.3% last year. However, a .253 BABIP has left him with a 3.61 ERA. His SIERA is about one run higher, while his xERA tops his current ERA by about a run and a half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:08 pm

    • Yordan Alvarez doubles twice in loss
Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and a run scored on Friday against the Mets.

Advice: Alvarez was on base four times in this one as the Mets just could not figure him out. All three of his balls in play were hit at least 108.9 MPH as his OPS has drifted all the way back up to .892, 11th highest in the league. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm

    • Idle Friday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Jeffers and Christian Vazquez have alternated catching duties throughout most of June, with Friday being Vazquez's turn behind the dish. Jeffers owns a .802 OPS and a career-best 20.8 percent K rate this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:12 pm

    • Returns to big leagues
The Phillies recalled Rojas from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Advice: Rojas did go 13-for-34 at the plate with Lehigh Valley following a demotion earlier this month, but his quick return to the majors is seemingly more based on need with Bryce Harper (hamstring) and Kyle Schwarber (groin) going down. Rojas could see some starts in center field as the Phillies deal with the absence of two of their sluggers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 am
