    • De La Cruz hits RBI triple, steals base in win
      Elly De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a run scored, a triple, an RBI and a stolen base against the Cardinals on Thursday.



      Advice: De La Cruz’s RBI triple off Miles Mikolas in the first inning started the scoring for Cincinnati. He later stole his 38th base of the season. De La Cruz is hitting .255 with an .815 OPS and 36 RBI on the year.

      Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a triple, and an RBI against the Guardians on Thursday.

      Advice: Garcia tied the game at one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Those were the only runs the Royals scored on the night, but it was enough to squeak out a 2-1 victory. Garcia needs to have more of an impact if he’s going to retain his spot atop the Kansas City lineup for the rest of the season. He’s hitting .232 with a .629 OPS on the season.       Rutschman had his right hand wrapped following Thursday's game against the Rangers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

      Advice: Rutschman had a ball tipped off his hand early in the game and remained in the lineup. He still managed to blast his 15th home run in the seventh inning, suggesting the injury isn't serious.       Adley Rutschman suffered a right hand injury during Thursday’s win over the Rangers.

      Advice: It wouldn’t be shocking to see Rutschman get a day off, or at least be limited to designated hitter for a bit, after suffering an apparent right hand injury during Thursday’s blowout win over the Rangers when he was hit by a foul tip. The 26-year-old backstop, who went 2-for-4 with his 15th homer of the season in the one-sided affair, had his hand wrapped following the contest and might need some time off to address the issue.     • Burnes picks up ninth win in route Thursday
      Corbin Burnes allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Orioles’ 11-2 victory over the Rangers on Monday.



      Advice: Burnes gave up nine hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was his ninth of the year. Burnes was on cruise control in this one. Despite the nine hits, he allowed just one run on a solo home run off the bat of Adolis Garcia. Burnes lowered his ERA to 2.28 in the process. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mariners on the road next week.

    • Notches save Wednesday
      Kimbrel earned a save against the Guardians on Wednesday, walking one batter and striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: Kimbrel issued a two-out walk but otherwise overpowered Cleveland with three punchouts. The veteran closer rebounded well after blowing a save against the Yankees during his previous trip to the mound.       Alec Burleson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in the Cardinals’ 4-1 win over the Braves on Wednesday.

      Advice: With two runners on and two outs in the third inning, Burleson brought both runners in to score on a double off Bryce Elder. He doubled once again in the eighth for his second hit of the game. The 25-year-old outfielder is slashing .289/.321/.478 with 12 homers, 36 RBI, and five steals across 264 plate appearances.     • Craig Kimbrel earns 17th save
      Craig Kimbrel struck out the side and walked one batter on Wednesday to nail down the save against the Guardians.

      Advice: Kimbrel continues to drink from the fountain of youth. His 17th save snapped the Orioles’ losing streak and he has his highest strikeout rate since 2021. He is locked in as the closer in Baltimore. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:12 pm

      Wednesday’s game between the Blue Jays and Red Sox in Boston was suspended due to rain.

      Advice: There hadn’t been any rain in the forecast, but a storm popped up early in the second inning and washed out any chances of the two sides getting this game in. The game will resume on August 26 in the top half of the second inning, with the Blue Jays having a runner at first base with one out.
