    • Christian Yelich plates two runs to lead Brewers
Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs on Saturday afternoon, propelling the Brewers to a 5-4 victory over the Tigers in Motown.

Advice: Yelich opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Casey Mize that plated Brice Turang in the first inning. He then drove in another run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Yelich also reached on an infield single in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but the Brewers couldn’t cash him in. With his two-hit attack, the dynamic 32-year-old outfielder is now hitting .333/.414/.532 with six homers, 29 RBI and 10 stolen bases in what has been an impressive all-around season. • Hits leadoff homer
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Royals.

Advice: The shortstop got the scoring started on the first pitch of the game with his 11th career leadoff homer. He later added another RBI on a single in the fifth, giving him his third multi-RBI game of the season. Crawford now has five home runs this season and three since coming off the IL on May 20. The 29-year-old is working on a five-game hitting streak, which is tied for his longest of the season. Rotowire.com Today, 4:06 pm

    • J.P. Crawford hits leadoff homer in loss to KC
J.P. Crawford homered and drove in two runs in a loss Saturday to the Royals.

Advice: Crawford didn’t waste any time by homering on the first pitch from Alec Marsh to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. The shortstop also drove in a run with a single in the third to again give the Mariners a lead at 3-2. After a horrible start to the year and missing time with an oblique injury, Crawford is looking more like the breakout hitter of 2023 than his .220/.306/.377 slash might suggest. • Resting Saturday
Campusano isn't in the Padres' lineup Saturday versus Arizona.

Advice: The Padres will give Campusano a day off following his three-hit performance Friday, during which he drove in two runs and scored another en route to a win. Kyle Higashioka will take over behind the dish and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 3:16 pm
    • Bell: CES (wrist) to resume swinging this month
Reds manager David Bell told reporters Saturday that Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) is expected to start swinging a bat in a few weeks.

Advice: Bell added that Encarnacion-Strand will ramp-up his strength training next week and should be cleared to begin hitting again at some point in June. The 24-year-old slugger has been out since early May recovering from a right wrist fracture. It’s starting to look like he won’t return until sometime after next month’s All-Star break. • Swipes 33rd bag
De La Cruz went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: The 22-year-old also struck out twice, and his 31.7 percent strikeout rate on the season has caught up with him -- De La Cruz is slashing .205/.286/.318 since the beginning of May with only three homers in 34 games. He continues to do damage when he is able to get on base, however, and De La Cruz's 33 steals on the season lead the league by a healthy margin, as the Brewers' Brice Turang sits in second place with 22. • Notches 14th save
Kimbrel worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 14th save of the season in a 6-3 win over the Rays. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.

Advice: The veteran closer let his defense do the work, getting outs on a flyball, a groundball and a popup in foul territory. Kimbrel hasn't been tagged with an earned run in 10 straight appearances, converting all six of his save chances during that stretch with a 10:0 K:BB as he puts his early season struggles behind him. • Racks up three hits
Campusano went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Campusano entered Friday just 1-for-29 with four walks and five strikeouts over his previous 12 contests. He finally made some good contact, including an RBI single and a double, his first extra-base hit since May 19. The catcher's slump left a mark on his season-long numbers -- he's now at a .234/.284/.359 slash line with four home runs, 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 11 doubles and no stolen bases over 57 games. Campusano remains in the starting role at catcher over Kyle Higashioka. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:30 pm
    • Turns in quality start
Canning (2-6) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over 6.1 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Astros.

Advice: Canning picked up his second quality start in a row, but he's lost both of those starts due to a lack of run support. The right-hander has allowed four runs over his last 13 innings, though he hasn't exactly been dominant with a 6:3 K:BB in that span. He's now at a 4.65 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 47:26 K:BB through 69.2 innings over 13 starts. Canning is projected for a road start versus the Diamondbacks his next time out. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:07 pm
