    • De La Cruz has three hits, home run against Boston
Elly De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a solo home run against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: De La Cruz’ home run was his 13th. He blasted a solo shot off Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta in the third inning. On the bases, he was held without a stolen base, though it wasn’t for lack of trying. De La Cruz was both caught stealing and picked off. He remains stuck on 37 stolen bases entering play Sunday. • Corbin Burnes gives up two homers in loss to Astros
Corbin Burnes gave up four runs over seven innings with five strikeouts in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Burnes gave up two homers in the loss, including a two-run homer by Yordan Alvarez. Outside of the roundtrippers the 29-year-old was mostly solid, but he was outdueled by Ronel Blanco as Baltimore dropped their second consecutive game in the three-game set. Burnes is back on the bump Thursday against the Rangers, assuming Baltimore doesn’t change the rotation order. Rotoworld Today, 3:29 pm

    • Eflin goes seven, allows four in loss to Pirates
Zach Eflin allowed four runs in seven innings and got the loss against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Eflin gave up five hits, walked one and struck out six. This was the longest of Eflin’s four starts since coming off the injured list and his second start in a row with at least six strikeouts. His ERA on the season is now 4.20. It’s safe to say Eflin hasn’t been able to repeat his breakout season last year when he won 16 games with a 3.50 ERA. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals at home next weekend.

    • Zach Eflin gives up four over seven against PIT
Zach Eflin gave up four runs in seven innings while being charged with a loss Saturday to the Pirates.

Advice: Eflin struck out six while issuing one walk. The 30-year-old right-hander gave up a long homer to Oneil Cruz in the first, and then gave up three runs in the third before settling down nicely. It was far from an abhorrent start, but Jared Jones was the better starter Saturday afternoon. Eflin now has a 4.20 ERA and (much more impressive) 63/6 K/BB through his 81 1/3 innings. • Luis Campusano (thumb) lands on 10-day IL
Padres placed C Luis Campusano on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 21, with a left thumb contusion.

Advice: The Padres don’t expect him to miss longer than the minimum time on the injured list, but since he wasn’t going to be ready for at least another couple of days they opted to bring up Brett Sullivan to help them out behind the plate. Expect Sullivan to share the load with Kyle Higashioka while Campusano is sidelined. Rotoworld Today, 2:55 pm

    • Hitting injured list
Campusano (thumb) was placed on the injured list Saturday but isn't expected to miss more than 10 days, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports

Advice: Campusano was scratched from Friday's game and held out of Saturday's contest with left thumb soreness, an injury that will require a stint on the IL. While the Padres don't expect the injury to last beyond the minimum 10 days, Brett Sullivan will take Campusano's place on the active roster. Kyle Higashioka should get most of the catching work, though. Rotowire.com Today, 2:29 pm

    • Christopher Morel wallops 446-foot homer in win
Christopher Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday, powering the Cubs to an 8-1 blowout victory over the Mets.

Advice: Morel contributed a run-scoring single as part of Chicago’s five-run opening frame against Mets starter Tylor Megill before clobbering a gargantuan 446-foot solo shot to left-center field -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- a couple innings later. It was a much-needed tater for Morel, who hadn’t gone deep since June 11. Rotoworld Today, 2:19 pm

    • Alec Burleson homers, plates five in blowout win
Alec Burleson went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI on Saturday, leading the Cardinals to a 9-4 blowout victory over the Giants.

Advice: Burleson also stole a base in this one, just for good measure. It was arguably a career day for the 25-year-old corner outfielder as he notched his first multi-homer performance in the big leagues by taking former teammate Jordan Hicks deep for a three-run shot in the fourth inning before tacking on a two-run blast off reliever Sean Hjelle a couple frames later. He’ll continue to play regularly against right-handed pitching and is quietly emerging as a potential 25-plus homer threat, which is pretty remarkable considering he looked like nothing more than a bench player last year in his full-season debut. • Absent from starting nine
Campusano (thumb) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: Campusano was scratched from Friday's lineup with soreness in his left thumb and will remain on the bench to begin Saturday's game. Kyle Higashioka will be behind the plate and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:13 pm
