    • Alec Burleson homers, plates five in blowout win
Alec Burleson went 3-for-4 with two homers and five RBI on Saturday, leading the Cardinals to a 9-4 blowout victory over the Giants.

Advice: Burleson also stole a base in this one, just for good measure. It was arguably a career day for the 25-year-old corner outfielder as he notched his first multi-homer performance in the big leagues by taking former teammate Jordan Hicks deep for a three-run shot in the fourth inning before tacking on a two-run blast off reliever Sean Hjelle a couple frames later. He’ll continue to play regularly against right-handed pitching and is quietly emerging as a potential 25-plus homer threat, which is pretty remarkable considering he looked like nothing more than a bench player last year in his full-season debut. • Absent from starting nine
Campusano (thumb) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: Campusano was scratched from Friday's lineup with soreness in his left thumb and will remain on the bench to begin Saturday's game. Kyle Higashioka will be behind the plate and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 1:13 pm

    • Luis Campusano (thumb) absent from Padres lineup
Luis Campusano (thumb) is absent from the Padres’ starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Campusano was scratched from the team’s starting lineup on Friday night due to the same issue. It doesn’t sound like he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but may need another day or two before he’s ready to return. Kyle Higashioka will draw another start behind the dish and will bat ninth against Carlos Rodriguez and the Brewers on Saturday evening in San Diego. Rotoworld Today, 1:12 pm

    • Not starting Saturday
Paredes is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Paredes will get a rest Saturday after going 1-for-5 with two strikeouts in Friday's 10-3 win over Pittsburgh. Amed Rosario will start at third base and bat fifth against Pirates right-hander Jared Jones. Rotowire.com Today, 12:51 pm

    • Records second steal Friday
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in an extra-inning loss to the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: The veteran shortstop hit safely for the third time in the last four games while also posting his second stolen base of the season, the first having come back on May 30. Crawford's modest recent success aside, he mostly remains mired in a season-long funk -- his current .207 average and .299 OBP are both career lows, while his 21.2 percent strikeout rate is his highest since 2018. • Stuck with loss in quality start
Crawford (3-7) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Reds, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Some defensive misadventures by Boston softened the blow to the right-hander's ERA and allowed him to escape with his third straight quality start and eighth of the season, but it's hard to ignore the issues Crawford has had of late keeping the ball in the park. He's been tagged for multiple homers in three straight outings and served up at least one in seven straight, stumbling to a 5.36 ERA over the latter stretch despite a 1.19 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB through 40.1 innings. Crawford will try to turn things around in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 6:46 am

    • Perfect day at dish
Rutschman went 5-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Friday's loss to Houston.

Advice: Rutschman was a thorn in the side for Houston pitching all night but wasn't able to drive in any runs. His lone extra-base hit came during Baltimore's seven-run eighth inning right after a Gunnar Henderson homer. Rutschman fell into a small eight-game slump, going 4-for-30 (.133) during that span, but has since gone 8-for-10 with two walks and five runs scored over his last two games. He's slashing .305/.352/.485 with 53 RBI and 41 runs scored through 71 games. Rotowire.com Today, 5:00 am
    • Stolen base, run in win
Carroll went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Phillies. He was also hit by a pitch.

Advice: Carroll walked and stole a base ahead of Gabriel Moreno's home run in the third inning. The stolen base was Carroll's team-leading 14th, which is tied for 20th in MLB. As Carroll's reached base more frequently in the last two weeks, he's picked up his running pace. He's gotten on base at a .443 clip over the last 14 games and has attempted six steals during that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 4:40 am
    • Adley Rutschman finishes 5-for-5 against Astros
Adley Rutschman went 5-for-5 and scored two runs in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: It’s Rutschman’s second career five-hit game; the other came on Opening Day last year, when he led the Orioles to a 10-9 win over the Red Sox. He also had three hits on Thursday, so he’s raised his average from .288 to .305 the last two days. Rotoworld Today, 12:08 am
