• Spencer Torkelson on bench Saturday amid slump
Spencer Torkelson is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Blue Jays.

Advice: It’s Torkelson’s first off day since April 28. The 24-year-old former top prospect has shown the occasional glimpses of big-time power potential, but he’s batting just .207/.279/.330 with three homers and 17 RBI in 209 plate appearances over 49 contests. He’s gone 0-for-16 at the dish over his last five games and will get some time off to reset mentally. It’ll be Mark Canha drawing a rare start at the hot corner in his absence. • On base three times Friday
Guerrero went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double in Friday's loss to the Tigers.

Advice: It's the fourth time in the last seven games that Guerrero has banged out multiple hits. The first baseman has put a sluggish start to the season behind him, and over the last month he's slashing .382/.455/.517 in 23 games with two homers, a steal, 13 runs and 14 RBI. • Resting Saturday
Torkelson isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Torkelson will get a day to clear his head after going 0-for-16 across his last five contests. Mark Canha will cover first base for the Tigers on Saturday, moving Colt Keith into the DH spot while Zach McKinstry starts at second. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
  • Expected to return Saturday
Ramos (quadriceps) is expected to be activated to start at third base Saturday against the Orioles, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Nothing's official yet, but it sounds like Ramos will return against right-hander Albert Suarez after missing the minimum 10 days with a left quad strain. Ramos, 22, has displayed an impressive skill set during his time in the minors, and that's made him one of the organization's top prospects, though his ceiling is up for some debate. Regardless, the White Sox have every incentive to give Ramos at-bats this season if he can hold his own. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Yasmani Grandal posts two RBI in return to lineup
Yasmani Grandal went 1-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Friday in his return to the Pirates’ lineup.

Advice: Grandal wound up missing a pair of contests following an early exit from Tuesday’s showdown against the Giants with left groin discomfort. The 35-year-old veteran will continue splitting the catching duties with Joey Bart for now. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago
  • Slugs 12th homer
Alonso went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Another bullpen meltdown wasted a big night from the Mets' offense, as Alonso's seven-inning solo shot off Nick Avila was New York's third homer of the game. The first baseman extended his hitting streak to nine games, and over the last 15 contests Alonso is slashing .313/.362/.609 with four of his 12 homers on the season and 10 of his 26 RBI. • Wyatt Langford posts three hard-hit BBE’s at AAA
Wyatt Langford (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with a walk on Friday in a minor league rehab contest for Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: It won’t show up in the surface stats, but Langford recorded impressive exit velocities of 109.6, 101.3 and 96 mph on three batted ball events during his rehab assignment debut on Friday night at Triple-A Round Rock. The 22-year-old top prospect will likely require a handful of additional contests to get back up to speed before returning to the Rangers’ lineup. He’s been on the shelf since early May recovering from a right hamstring strain. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

  • Pete Crow-Armstrong tallies four hits Friday at AAA
Cubs OF prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and four RBI on Friday for Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: Crow-Armstrong was jettisoned to the minors last week with Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki back from injured-list stints and certainly made some noise in this one with his fifth long ball of the year along with three doubles. The 22-year-old top prospect’s elite-caliber defense guarantees he’s going to be around for a long time and he offers enough of a power/speed combination for fantasy managers to dream on. It’ll be interesting to see how he performs when he gets another extended look in Chicago. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago
  • Launches game-winning slam
Bailey went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a stolen base in Friday's 8-7 win over the Mets.

Advice: The 24-year-old backstop took Reed Garrett deep in the eighth inning to put the Giants ahead 7-6 and help them make history, as they became only the fourth team since 1900 to win three straight games that they had been trailing in by four or more runs. Bailey has gone 5-for-11 in four games since returning from a concussion, and on the season he's slashing .301/.352/.495 with four homers, two steals, 13 runs and 16 RBI in 30 contests.
