      Advice: Machado made a pinch-hit appearance during Thursday’s series opener against Arizona, but wasn’t needed during Friday’s one-sided affair.       Advice: The right-hander got taken deep by Anthony Santander in the second inning and Ryan Mountcastle in the fifth, just the second time this season Civale has served up multiple homers. The eight strikeouts did tie his season high, helping to salvage some fantasy value, but he's gone 10 straight starts without recording a win, going 0-4 over that stretch with a 6.66 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB through 50 innings.       Witt went 3-for-5 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-9 win over the Mariners.

      Advice: Witt's triple was his seventh of the year, putting him second in the majors behind Boston's Jarren Duran (nine). It was a timely three-bagger for Witt, as it tied the game in the ninth inning, and he went home as the winning run on a Nelson Velazquez fielder's choice. This was Witt's third three-hit effort in his last six games. He's up to a .323/.375/.568 slash line with 11 home runs, 47 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 stolen bases over 64 contests this season.       Advice: Melendez blasted a 406-foot, three-run homer off Bryce Miller in the fourth inning before adding another RBI via a groundout in the sixth. This marks the 25-year-old's second four-RBI game of the season, with the first coming April 19.       Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests.     • Witt Jr. triples home tying run, scores winner
      Bobby WItt Jr. went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple to help the Royals to a 10-9 win over the Mariners on Friday.

      Advice: Superstar gonna superstar. With the Royals trailing 9-8, Witt Jr. spanked a triple down the left-field line to score the tying run, and he scored on a fielder’s choice to give Kansas City the win in a game they trailed 7-0 after the top half of the first inning.       De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's win over Cleveland.

      Advice: De La Cruz put the Marlins on the board with his solo shot in the third inning and later smacked another extra-base hit. He's gone deep 11 times this season, though just two of those have come in his last 17 contests.       Bryan De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double Friday to lead the Marlins to a 3-2 win over the Guardians.

      Advice: De La Cruz’s hits all left his bat at over 102 mph. He’s batting .252/.306/.427 for the season, which is certainly good enough to keep him in the Marlins lineup but isn’t great for someone who has turned out to be a pretty bad left fielder (he’s currently DHing about two-thirds of the time).
