    • Optioned to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Rosario to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

Advice: With Luis Campusano (thumb) returning from the injured list, Rosario will end up as the odd man out of San Diego's active roster. The 24-year-old has slashed .245/.286/.528 in 57 plate appearances with the Padres this season, and his OPS jumps up to 1.022 at Triple-A. Should the Padres run into any problems with infield depth in the future, Rosario would be a likely candidate to rejoin the big-league squad. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

    • Padres option Eguy Rosario back To Triple-A
Padres optioned INF/OF Eguy Rosario to Triple-A El Paso.

Advice: The Padres activated Luis Campusano from the 10-day IL on Friday, but they’re going to hang on to three catchers for the time being, which squeezed Rosario off of the big-league roster. He’ll surely get another opportunity with the Padres before the summer is through. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

    • Padres activate Luis Campusano from 10-day IL
Padres activated C Luis Campusano from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The 25-year-old has been shelved since June 21 due to a left thumb contusion. While he was activated, Campusano is not in the Padres’ starting lineup on Friday night, it’s Kyle Higashioka behind the dish. Eguy Rosario was optioned to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

    • Avoids serious injury, still on IL
An MRI on Friday revealed Heyward is dealing with a left knee contusion that will require a stint on the injured list, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Heyward got some good news Friday, as the MRI showed no structural damage in his left knee. Still, Heyward will hit the IL, leaving a roster spot for open for James Outman. Although he'll be out for over a week, Heyward could be back after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

    • Rejoins big-league club
The Dodgers recalled Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: With Jason Heyward (knee) headed for the injured list, Outman will get the call back to Los Angeles in order to replenish the Dodgers' outfield depth. Since being demoted to Triple-A in May, the 27-year-old has slashed .285/.396/.556 with 10 homers and 22 RBI in 182 plate appearances. He isn't likely to see regular playing time while Heyward is sidelined, but there's a chance Outman makes an occasional start against right-handed pitchers in order to give one of the usual starters a breather. • Getting Friday off
Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Friday's game versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Rhys Hoskins will get the nod at first base while Bauers sits for the second game in a row Friday, opening up the DH spot for Christian Yelich while Jackson Chourio starts in left field. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

    • Not facing lefty
Kjerstad is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kjerstad will take a seat Friday with southpaw Hogan Harris on the mound for Oakland. Austin Hays, Colton Cowser and Anthony Santander will fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago
    • Idle vs. southpaw
O'Hearn is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Athletics.

Advice: O'Hearn will retreat to the bench Friday with Oakland sending southpaw Hogan Harris to the mound. O'Hearn is coming off an 0-for-4 appearance with two strikeouts in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners, but since June 1 he is slashing .326/.381/.516 with four home runs and 19 RBI over 95 at-bats. Adley Rutschman will serve as the designated hitter Friday and bat second. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Dodgers recall James Outman from Triple-A OKC
Dodgers recalled OF James Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: The 27-year-old outfielder will replace the injured Jason Heyward (knee) on the Dodgers’ active roster. Outman really struggled during his time with the Dodgers to start the season (slashing .147/.250/.266 in 109 at-bats), but we’ve seen what he’s capable of during his breakout 2023 season. If he sees regular action against right-handed pitching while Heyward is shelved, he could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago
