    • Locks down save Sunday
Duran picked up the save in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Mariners, pitching a perfect ninth while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Duran capped off the month with his 12th save in 13 tries this season and turned in a scoreless outing for the 10th time in 12 June appearances. The hard-throwing righty owns a solid 3.51 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 25.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 2:37 am
    • Stays hot Sunday
Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Pasquantino has gone 11-for-27 (.407) with nine RBI across his last seven games, ending June on a high note. The first baseman's recent surge has him up to a .247/.321/.436 slash line for the year, nearly identical to his marks over 61 contests in 2023. He's added 10 home runs, 55 RBI, 39 runs scored, 21 doubles and two triples through 82 games this year, playing on a near-everyday basis between first base and designated hitter. • Making first start Wednesday
Williams (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list earlier Sunday, is scheduled to make his first start of the season for the Guardians on Wednesday versus the White Sox at Progressive Field.

Advice: Williams' 30-day rehab window came to a close Sunday, so the Guardians brought him back from the IL a few days before he's set to make his 2024 MLB debut. The right-hander submitted a 7.88 ERA and 2.00 WHIP across eight innings over his first four rehab starts with Triple-A Columbus, but he looked strong his last two times out, turning in five- and four-inning starts while allowing two total runs and submitting a 10:2 K:BB between those outings. The Guardians will likely keep the 24-year-old's workload in check to some extent Wednesday, but based on how he concluded his rehab assignment, Williams might be worthy of activating this week while he faces off against a weak White Sox lineup. • Jhoan Duran silences Mariners to net 12th save
Jhoan Duran fired a perfect ninth inning on Sunday against the Mariners to collect his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Duran turned in a scoreless outing for the 10th time in 12 appearances since the start of June as he needed just 19 pitches (13 strikes) to slam the door in this one. The hard-throwing 26-year-old righty has converted 12 of his 13 save opportunities this season to accompany a solid 3.51 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 23/8 K/BB ratio across 25 2/3 innings (27 appearances). • Launches grand slam
Turang went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Sunday's win against the Cubs.

Advice: Turang took Kyle Hendricks deep with the bases loaded to put the finishing touches on a seven-run fourth inning for the Brewers. The 24-year-old has now hit two grand slams over the past eight days, giving him a career-best 37 RBI on the campaign. The middle infielder has enjoyed an exceptional breakout season, batting .292 with six home runs, 37 RBI, 40 runs scored and 28 stolen bases in 80 games played. • Zach Neto demolishes three-run homer in loss
Zach Neto crushed a three-run homer on Sunday in the Angels’ loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Neto kick-started a ninth-inning rally for the Angels on Sunday afternoon that came up just short as they nearly erased a six-run deficit with five runs in the final frame. Neto played a pivotal role in the comeback with a 414-foot moonshot -- his 11th big fly of the season -- off Tigers reliever Shelby Miller. The 23-year-old former top prospect is quietly putting together an impressive full-season debut with a .738 OPS to go along with 11 homers and 11 steals in 300 plate appearances over 81 games. • Rounding into form
Cole (1-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits, a walk and two hit batsmen over five innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out six.

Advice: Cole continues to struggle with his command as he rounds into form following a two-plus month stint on the IL with a nerve irritation in his elbow, but Sunday's performance represented a major step in the right direction. After walking four and allowing four homers in his previous start, Cole allowed a single run in the third, then struck out three of the last six batters he faced as he sent the Blue Jays down in order in the fourth and fifth innings to close out his day. The five innings pitched, 90 pitches thrown, one run allowed and six strikeouts each represented a season-best total for Cole, who continues to inch his way back toward his normal workload. He's tentatively slated to toe the rubber again next weekend in an AL East showdown when the Yankees welcome the Red Sox to the Bronx. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:22 pm
    • Turang hits grand slam in route against Cubs
Brice Turang went 2-for-5 with a grand slam against the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: The home run was Turang’s sixth of the year. The speedster played the role of power hitter in this one. He chased Kyle Hendricks from the game with a grand slam with two outs in the fourth inning to give the Brewers a 7-0 lead. Turang is hitting .292 with a .771 OPS and 28 steals on the season.

    • Gerrit Cole wins, rights ship against Blue Jays
Gerrit Cole scattered three hits and a walk across five innings on Sunday in an 8-1 win over the Blue Jays. He allowed one run and struck out six.

Advice: This was the first time this season Cole looked like himself. His fastball velocity was much more consistent than it had been in either of his first two starts and he showed no hesitation in challenging the Blue Jays hitters with it. He also showed better command of his secondaries and the Yankees let him work all the way up to 90 pitches. While not perfect, this was the kind of start we needed to see from Cole.
