    • Tallies 11th homer
Arozarena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Arozarena went deep in the seventh inning to record his 11th homer of the season and third of June. The performance wrapped up a solid month, as he hit .291 with nine RBI, 10 runs scored and three stolen bases in 25 games. Arozarena is still hitting just .196 for the season, though there should be optimism his performance will improve across the second half of the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:45 pm
    • Drives in three runs
Bailey went 2-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bailey did most of his damage during the Giants' five-run fourth inning, knocking a two-run double and coming around to score. He later capped off his day with an RBI double in the eighth. He'd been stuck in a 4-for-25 (.160) slump over his previous eight games since his last multi-hit effort June 20. Bailey is now slashing .284/.353/.433 with 17 extra-base hits and 28 RBI through 59 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:08 pm
    • Ryan Mountcastle sits due to illness
Ryan Mountcastle didn’t play Sunday because he was ill, according to manager Brandon Hyde.

Advice: Mountcastle also didn’t play Saturday, but since he occasionally sits against right-handers, that went without any explanation. That he was absent tonight against a lefty demanded one. There was no additional comment about whether the Orioles expected him to return Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:31 pm
    • Dealing with illness
Mountcastle was unavailable for Sunday's 11-2 loss to the Rangers due to an illness, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Mountcastle's absence from the lineup was a surprising one Sunday considering his impressive .306/.359/.494 slash line against left-handed pitchers this season, but manager Brandon Hyde clarified after the contest that Mountcastle was feeling under the weather. With Baltimore off Monday, there's a good chance that Mountcastle will be ready to go for the team's series opener in Seattle on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:20 pm
    • Taylor Ward (head) likely to play Tuesday
Angels manager Ron Washington said after the game that Taylor Ward was fine after being hit in the helmet by a pitch.

Advice: It sounds like Ward will be ready to go after the off day Monday. He left Sunday’s game in the ninth after a Shelby Miller fastball got him on the ear flap. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:40 pm

    • Exits after being hit in head
Ward (head) exited Sunday's game against the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth inning after being hit the in head by a pitch, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his first three plate appearances of the day.

Advice: Ward was struck in the head after a 93 mph fastball got away from reliever Shelby Miller. The outfielder looked to be OK after getting hit, with his removal from the contest potentially being a matter of precaution, according to Beacham. The 30-year-old missed the final three months of the 2023 campaign after being hit in the face by a pitch from Toronto starter Alek Manoah, making the situation Sunday particularly jarring. Ward's status will likely receive an update in the near future, but at the moment, he appears to have avoided any significant injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:47 pm

    • Taylor Ward exits but apparently OK after beaning
Taylor Ward left Sunday’s game in the ninth inning after being hit in the helmet by a pitch.

Advice: Ward seemed OK afterwards and was able to walk off without incident. Ward missed the final two months of last season with facial fractures after getting hit in the head by a pitch. Fortunately, this one today only hit the side of his helmet. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:43 pm

    • Shohei Ohtani goes 0-for-5 in loss to Giants
Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts on Sunday in the Dodgers’ blowout loss to the Giants.

Advice: We’re fairly confident he’s going to be just fine moving forward. There will be days like this, even for generational superstar like Ohtani, who launched his 26th round-tripper of the season during Saturday’s extra-inning win over the division-rival Giants. The 29-year-old slugger has gone deep nine times over his last 15 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:37 pm

    • Patrick Bailey doubles twice, plates three in win
Patrick Bailey went 2-for-5 with three RBI on Sunday in the Giants’ lopsided victory over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bailey’s impressive offensive breakout continued in this one with run-scoring doubles in the fourth and eighth inning, respectively, as part of a 10-run, 16-hit offensive explosion for San Francisco in this one. The 25-year-old backstop holds an impressive .284/.353/.433 triple-slash line with six homers and two steals in 222 plate appearances through 59 games so far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:36 pm
