    • X-rays come back negative for Juan Soto (hand)
Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Saturday’s loss to the Blue Jays that X-rays on the injured right hand of superstar outfielder Juan Soto came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: The 25-year-old superstar injured himself while sliding headfirst into home plate during Friday’s battle against the Jays. The team has an off-day on Monday, so it seems very likely that he’ll rest again on Sunday before hopefully being able to return to the Bombers’ lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Reds. • X-rays return negative
Soto's (hand) X-rays came back negative Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Soto sustained a right hand contusion sliding into home during Friday's game and was scratched from the Yankees' lineup Saturday. With his X-rays coming back negative, it appears as though Soto has avoided structural damage and a long-term injury. With a team off day coming Monday, it wouldn't be surprising to see Soto sit again Sunday as a precaution. Oswaldo Cabrera started in right field Saturday. Rotowire.com 33 minutes ago

    • Royce Lewis absent from Twins’ lineup on Saturday
Royce Lewis is absent from the Twins’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Mariners.

Advice: The Twins are making sure to mix in days off to keep the 25-year-old superstar fresh and healthy. While that’s disappointing for fantasy managers, at least the goal is keeping him in the lineup and off the injured list. Jose Miranda will cover the hot corner while Trevor Larnach functions as the team’s designated hitter on Saturday evening against Bryce Miller and the Mariners. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

    • Receiving breather
Lewis is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle.

Advice: Lewis will get his first day off since June 14, giving way to Jose Miranda at third base Saturday. After hitting nine home runs in his first 16 games of June, Lewis has just one hit in his last 21 at-bats. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

    • Chris Bassitt strikes out eight in win vs. Yankees
Chris Bassitt allowed one run -- zero earned -- with eight strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Bassitt was excellent against the Yankees, tossing his third straight quality start. He tossed four scoreless frames before the Yankees brought a run in after an error in the fifth. Bassitt would close out a scoreless sixth with eight strikeouts on the day. The 35-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 91/37 K/BB ratio across 97 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Astros in Toronto on Thursday. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Juan Soto scratched Saturday with hand contusion
Juan Soto was scratched from Saturday’s lineup due to a right hand contusion.

Advice: Soto is dealing with a bruise on his right hand that he suffered on an awkward fourth-inning slide into home plate during Friday’s eventual 16-5 rout of the division-rival Blue Jays. The 25-year-old impending free agent, who blasted his 20th homer later in the contest following the incident, is headed for some precautionary imaging to rule out anything more serious. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. There should be an additional update on his status at some point on Saturday evening. Stay tuned. Rotoworld Today, 12:03 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Soto was scratched from the Yankees' lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus Toronto due to a right hand contusion, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Soto suffered the injury while sliding into home plate during the fourth inning of Friday's contest. He is slated to undergo imaging on his hand to see whether he's dealing with a more serious injury, and the Yankees should offer an update on his condition once they get the results back. In the meantime, Oswaldo Cabrera will enter the lineup as New York's right fielder and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 12:01 pm

    • Two more steals in win
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia was briefly bumped down the order last weekend, but he hasn't really rebounded since returning to the leadoff spot for the last five games. His multi-hit effort Friday was his first since June 14 and just his third such game in June, a month in which he's batting .153 (15-for-98). The infielder is now at a .234/.288/.347 slash line with five home runs, 40 RBI, 51 runs scored and 21 steals over 82 contests, with his speed being the biggest upside in his game this year. • Michael Kopech earns second save in two days
Michael Kopech pitched a hitless ninth inning against the Rockies for his seventh save Friday.

Advice: Kopech has saves on back-to-back days after going nearly six weeks without one. It’s good to see, but it does mean he’ll be of Saturday, perhaps creating a save opportunity for Steven Wilson. John Brebbia has also pitched back-to-back days, so he probably won’t be an option.
