      Evan Phillips was charged with three runs in the eighth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

      Advice: Phillips got the call for his first appearance in nearly a week with the Dodgers leading by seven runs at the time and wound up surrendering four hits, including a three-run homer to Oneil Cruz. Fortunately, his struggles didn’t end up impacting the final result of the contest, but it certainly doesn’t do fantasy managers any favors in the ratio departments.       Kopech (1-6) allowed a solo home run to the only batter he faced, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Cubs.

      Advice: Kopech was taken deep by Mike Tauchman as the Cubs won in walk-off fashion. It's been tough sledding for Kopech lately -- he's allowed five runs (four earned) over his last 2.2 innings, taking the loss in three of his last four appearances. The right-hander is now at a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB through 25.2 innings while adding five saves, a hold and two blown saves. If he continues to struggle, Kopech could eventually lose his high-leverage role, though the White Sox's poor play overall has made it difficult for any of the team's relievers to put up saves.     • Evan Phillips quiets Rockies to collect ninth save
      Evan Phillips tossed a perfect ninth inning on Saturday against the Rockies to collect his ninth save of the season.

      Advice: Phillips got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. The 29-year-old righty picked up his first save since returning from the injured list ahead of Friday’s series opener and remains one of the better closing options in the entire fantasy landscape.       Phillips pitched a perfect inning and struck out one to earn the save in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: This was Phillips' first appearance in nearly a month due to a hamstring strain. He looked rust-free, throwing 11 pitches (seven strikes) to set down the bottom of the Rockies' order for his ninth save of the season. Phillips has a 0.61 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings, and he's yet to take a blown save this year. It doesn't appear he'll be eased into the closer role again, not that he needs to be handled with kid gloves considering his track record in high-leverage spots over the last two years.       Advice: Kopech entered the game in the 10th inning with the game tied at three. He intentionally walked the first batter he faced to put a pair of runners on base before throwing a wild pitch and allowing an infield single to take the loss. Kopech has had an inconsistent season, though he did turn in scoreless efforts in eight of his nine appearances in May.       Michael Kopech allowed an unearned run while striking out two and picking up a loss Saturday to the Brewers.

      Advice: The run doesn’t get charged to Kopech because it was the “zombie runner” that was placed on second base to begin the bottom of the 10th.       The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately reclaim his spot as the Dodgers' closer, a role he thrived in prior to getting injured.       Dodgers activated RHP Evan Phillips from the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role.
