    • Buxton has three hits, two RBI in win Thursday
Byron Buxton went 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBI against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Buxton is now 9-for-23 (.391) with a home run and five RBI in his last six games. It’s been a good week for Buxton, who has looked like a shell of himself for most of the season. His average is up to .244 with four home runs and a .688 OPS on the year. Rotoworld Today, 7:47 pm
    • Likely back Friday
Seager (hamstring) was scratched from Thursday's lineup as a precaution, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Bruce Bochy disclosed that Seager experienced tightness in his hamstring while warming up for Thursday's game. Bochy also noted that Seager is likely to be back in the lineup Friday against the Mariners. Rotowire.com Today, 5:15 pm

    • Corey Seager scratched from Thursday’s lineup
Corey Seager has been scratched from the lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Dodgers due to left hamstring tightness.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters they’re exercising an abundance of caution after Seager experienced some left hamstring tightness during his pregame routine. The lingering issue has caused him to miss four of the previous five games. The 30-year-old fantasy superstar blasted a three-run homer on Wednesday in his return to the lineup at his old stomping ground in Los Angeles and the expectation is that he’ll be ready for Friday’s series opener against the division-rival Mariners. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 4:30 pm

    • Scratched from lineup
Seager was scratched from the Rangers' lineup ahead of Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The reason for Seager's removal from the lineup is unknown, but the Rangers should offer an explanation relatively soon. In the meantime, Travis Jankowski will step in as Texas' designated hitter with Josh Smith starting at shortstop. Rotowire.com Today, 3:39 pm

    • Blasts homer in win
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests. The first baseman has a .226/.299/.354 slash line with eight home runs and 27 RBI through 65 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:28 pm
    • Lance Lynn pulled with lead in fifth inning
Lance Lynn was charged with three runs in 4 1/3 innings Thursday versus the Pirates.

Advice: After going four scoreless, Lynn gave up a single and two walks to open the fifth. He might have gotten out of it from there if only he hadn’t kicked a comebacker with one out and the bases loaded; it could have been a double play had it made it through untouched, but it instead resulted in no outs and a run in. Lynn was pulled at that point, and two of the three runners he left on came around to score off John King. It’s a third straight start in which Lynn has failed to complete five innings. His 3.75 ERA remains reasonable, but the early exits have left him with a 2-3 record, even though the Cardinals are 8-6 in his 14 starts. Rotoworld Today, 2:57 pm
    • Falls apart in fifth inning
Lynn came away with a no-decision Thursday, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in a 4-3 win versus the Pirates.

Advice: Lynn cruised through the first four innings, allowing only three baserunners to reach before he hit a wall in the fifth. He departed with the bases loaded in the fifth, and all three baserunners would come around to score. The veteran righty has struggled going deep into games of late, as this was his third straight start of less than five frames. The 37-year-old will take a 3.75 ERA through 14 starts into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for early next week against the Marlins. Rotowire.com Today, 2:56 pm
    • X-rays negative on Nolan Arenado’s right hand
X-rays came back negative on Nolan Arenado’s right hand.

Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters Arenado is day-to-day with a bone bruise in his right hand. The 33-year-old third baseman, who finished 0-for-4 on Thursday afternoon, appears to have avoided serious injury after being hit by a pitch on the back of his right hand while striking out swinging during his final at-bat. He might require a couple games off to let the pain and swelling subside, but it doesn’t appear he’s facing an extended absence. Rotoworld Today, 2:45 pm
    • X-rays on hand negative
X-rays on Arenado's right hand game back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Thursday's win over Pittsburgh, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Arenado struck out swinging on a pitch that hit him in the hand during the eighth inning. He immediately headed back into the Cardinals' clubhouse to get checked out, but manager Oliver Marmol said Arenado simply suffered a bone bruise and is considered day-to-day. The 33-year-old is slashing .273/.340/.386 with a home run and five RBI since the beginning of June. Rotowire.com Today, 2:28 pm
