    • Blasts homer in win
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests. The first baseman has a .226/.299/.354 slash line with eight home runs and 27 RBI through 65 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:28 pm
    • Breaks homer drought
Rizzo went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: The first baseman snapped a streak of 27 games without a long ball when he took John Schreiber deep in the eighth inning. Rizzo received back-to-back days off earlier this week for a mental reset, and he entered Thursday's game in a 2-for-37 slump during June. He currently sits at .223/.282/.344 slash line with eight home runs and 27 RBI for the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:14 pm
    • On base five times in loss
Perez went 2-for-2 with three walks in Wednesday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Perez walked three times in a game for the first time in his career. The catcher has gone just 6-for-33 (.182) over 10 contests in June, but he's shown rare patience at the plate by drawing eight walks in that span. For the season, he's at a .302/.381/.488 slash line with 10 home runs, 42 RBI, 26 runs scored, 15 doubles and no stolen bases, and his 9.0 percent walk rate is double his previous career high, which was in a 39-game sample as a rookie in 2011. • Homers as part of three-hit night
Freeman went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and three runs scored in Tuesday's 15-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Freeman's big hit of the night came in the sixth when he went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani as part of a four-homer inning for the Dodgers. Freeman now has multiple hits in four of nine games this month to go along with three home runs after he totaled just six homers through the end of May. His .401 on-base percentage currently ranks fifth in all of baseball, as he's slashing .297/.401/.498 with 30 extra-base hits, 41 RBI, 43 runs and a 39:49 BB:K in 299 plate appearances. • Jake Cronenworth hits 10th homer in Padres’ win
Jake Cronenworth homered, doubled and scored twice as the Padres topped the A’s 6-1 on Monday.

Advice: Cronenworth has two homers in three games after going his previous 19 games without one. His exit velocity numbers have trended downwards after a surprisingly hot start in April, but he’s still performing better than his decline the previous two seasons indicated he would; he’s back up to .267/.331/.463 after tonight. He has as many homers (10) in 288 plate appearances this year that he did in 522 last season. Rotoworld Monday, 11:31 pm

    • Swats homer in victory
Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs against Oakland in Monday's 6-1 win.

Advice: Cronenworth put San Diego's first run on the board with a solo homer in the third inning, and he scored again after getting hit by a pitch in the seventh. The second baseman also doubled in the contest, resulting in his first game with multiple extra-base hits since May 3. Cronenworth has put together a modest five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 8-for-19 with two homers, two doubles, six RBI and four runs. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:51 pm

    • Anthony Rizzo remains on bench versus Royals
Anthony Rizzo is on the bench again Monday for the series opener against the Royals.

Advice: The Yankees have opted for DJ LeMahieu at first and Oswaldo Cabrera at third for a second straight game tonight. They also could use Cabrera in right field tonight with Juan Soto DHing and Aaron Judge sitting, but they opted to give Jahmai Jones a very rare start in that spot. Rotoworld Monday, 3:49 pm
    • Held out again Monday
Rizzo is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone had indicated the struggling Rizzo would receive a second straight day off, and that's exactly what will happen. Rizzo has just one hit over his last 29 at-bats. DJ LeMahieu will handle first base Monday while Oswaldo Cabrera plays third base. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:29 pm
    • Report: Yankees not ready to give up on Rizzo
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees “are not ready to give up on [Anthony Rizzo] just yet.”

Advice: Rizzo was out of the starting lineup on Sunday and reportedly will be again on Monday. The 34-year-old has been struggling mightily this year. As Rosenthal points out, Rizzo’s .284 slugging percentage against starting pitching is the lowest in the majors, and “since 2022 his .235 batting average against fastballs is the second lowest, ahead of only the Blue Jays’ Daulton Varsho.” Considering that Rizzo is now playing below-average defense at first base, it seems logical for the Yankees to look for an upgrade. Still, manager Aaron Boone has not been willing to admit as much. “There’s no question over the last two, three weeks especially, it’s been a little bit of a struggle,” Boone said. “When you’re going through it and making little adjustments, they don’t always take right away.” Considering Rizzo is hitting .231/.323/.413 since the beginning of 2022 with a 111 wRC+, it’s now been a few years since he’s really given the Yankees’ lineup much. If they want to compete for a World Series this year, Boone may need to be open to a change at first base. Rotoworld Monday, 9:13 am
