    • Expected to get multiple turns
The Tigers recalled Montero from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Montero will draw the start Wednesday in Minnesota. While he's technically filling in for Jack Flaherty (back) on Wednesday, Montero will receive multiple turns as a replacement for Casey Mize (hamstring), per manager A.J. Hinch. Montero has allowed nine runs with an 11:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings with the Tigers this season and holds a 5.03 ERA and 54:30 K:BB across 48.1 frames for Toledo. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Lands on IL with strained hamstring
The Tigers placed Mize on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to July 1, with a strained left hamstring, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Mize tweaked his hamstring during Sunday's start against the Angels and subsequent testing revealed a strain. It's not clear what the grade of the strain is, but the Tigers anticipate the right-hander missing at least three starts. Keider Montero has taken Mize's spot on the roster and will start Wednesday in Minnesota, but the club will need an additional starter to fill in this weekend, as well, with Jack Flaherty (back) also missing a turn. • Takes loss against Guardians
Kopech (2-7) allowed one hit and one earned run across 0.2 innings and took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Kopech entered the game in the ninth inning with the score tied at 6-6. He allowed a leadoff single and threw a wild pitch to put the runner on third base before allowing a sacrifice fly to bring in the game-winning run for Cleveland. Kopech has each of the White Sox's last two saves and should remain the team's primary closer despite a 4.50 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 36 innings this season. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

    • Thorpe has start pushed back to Friday
RHP Drew Thorpe will start for the White Sox against the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Thorpe was originally scheduled to pitch against the Guardians on Thursday, but the White Sox are pushing him back a day. It’s certainly good news for fantasy managers as the Marlins are undoubtedly the better matchup. Thorpe has a 4.43 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in four starts with Chicago this season. He could be a streaming option in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 8:12 am
    • Shane Baz could join Rays rotation soon
RHP Shane Baz could join the Rays’ rotation soon.

Advice: While nothing is imminent, Baz was scratched from his Triple-A start Tuesday in case the Rays were rained out in Kansas City and he was needed for a potential doubleheader on Wednesday. That situation didn’t come to pass, but the Rays traded Aaron Civale on Wednesday opening up a spot in their rotation. Baz has a 4.12 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings in 10 starts with Triple-A Durham as he makes his comeback from Tommy John surgery. Rotoworld Today, 8:06 am

    • Mets designate RHP Matt Festa for assignment
Mets designated RHP Matt Festa for assignment.

Advice: Festa was the corresponding move for Christian Scott, who was recalled to start on Wednesday. After being added to the roster on June 30th, Festa made one appearance for the Mets and allowed five runs (four earned) in one inning. He had a 1.76 ERA in 11 appearances with Triple-A Syracuse. New York has seven days to trade Festa or place him on waivers. Rotoworld Today, 7:57 am

    • Mets recalled RHP Christian Scott from Triple-A
Mets recalled RHP Christian Scott from Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Scott is back in the majors to start against the Nationals on Wednesday. Matt Festa was designated for assignment as the corresponding move. Scott has a 3.90 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings in five starts with the Mets this year. He’s worth streaming in leagues with daily transactions. Rotoworld Today, 7:52 am
    • Designated for assignment
The Mets designated Festa for assignment Wednesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Festa was roughed up for five runs (four earned) over one inning in his lone appearance with the Mets. He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Christian Scott, who will start Wednesday's game versus the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 am

    • Summoned ahead of start
The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Scott is slated to start Wednesday against the Nationals and he could earn additional opportunities if he pitches well. The rookie right-hander has collected a 3.90 ERA and 25:6 K:BB over 27.2 innings in five starts with the major-league club this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:50 am
