• Aaron Nola goes seven in victory over Nationals
Aaron Nola lasted seven innings and allowed three runs Sunday in beating the Nationals.

Advice: A strong followup to his shutout of the Mets. Nola gave up just two hits, which were homers to Eddie Rosario and Jesse Winker. He’s completed seven innings in five of his last seven starts, and he’s 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA for the season. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

  • Trevor Williams gives up three runs to Phillies
Trevor Williams yielded three runs in 4 1/3 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Williams still hasn’t given up more than three runs in a game this season, though the quick hooks help there; he’s gotten a total of five outs beyond the fifth inning in his nine starts. Williams will eventually start giving up homers again. He topped the NL in allowing 15 in 55 innings in 2020 and 34 in 144 innings last season, yet he’s somehow gave up only one in 46 innings this year. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago
  • Needs one more rehab start
Astros manager Joe Espada said Sunday that Urquidy (forearm) will make another rehab start in the next few days, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old allowed four earned runs and threw 59 pitches over four innings during his second rehab start Saturday, and he'll require one more start before potentially joining the Astros. If Urquidy remains on a five-day pitching schedule, he could make his season debut as early as May 28 in Seattle. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

  • Arrighetti fades late in win over Brewers
Spencer Arrighetti allowed four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Arrighetti struck out six and walked two on the day. The 24-year-old had allowed one run on five hits through six innings but the Astros brought him out for the seventh and he allowed three hits and one walk to start the inning before the bullpen was called on. Three of those runners would come around to score and drastically change his statline. The rookie sports a 7.16 ERA on the year and likely won’t have many more starts with Jose Urquidy coming off the IL soon. However, Arrighetti could be a streamer next week against the Athletics. • Colin Rea can’t escape 5th versus Astros
Colin Rea allowed five runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Things got off to a rough start for Rea, who allowed four runs on three hits in the first inning. He settled down for three innings after that, allowing three hits but no runs before running out of steam in the fifth. He posted a 19 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW on the day and now sports a 4.07 ERA on the year. He’s a risky start next week in Boston. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

  • David Bednar slams door on Cubs on Sunday
David Bednar slammed the door on the Cubs in the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon, preserving a one-run lead to earn his 10th save of the season.

Advice: It hasn’t always been easy for Bednar this season, but he has been much better of late and made things look easy on Sunday. He got Christopher Morel on a pop out to shortstop and Ian Happ on a pop out to third base to start the inning before issuing a two-out walk to Michael Busch. Not to worry though, as he battled back to retire Patrick Wisdom to end it. Bednar will look to further improve upon his bloated 7.85 ERA his next time out. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago
  • Ryan Pressly (finger) throwing bullpen Sunday
Ryan Pressly (finger) is throwing a bullpen session before Sunday’s game against the Brewers.

Advice: Pressly has been unavailable due to a finger issue, but the right-hander could be available in the late innings for Houston if the bullpen session goes well. He should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Today, 9:21 am

  • José Urquidy (forearm) making one more rehab start
José Urquidy (forearm) allowed four runs over four innings with two strikeouts in a rehab start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday.

Advice: Urquidy threw 59 pitches in the contest. The line isn’t great, but the more important thing is that he came out of the outing healthy. The right-hander will make at least one more rehab start and then he’ll likely rejoin the Houston rotation near the end of May. Rotoworld Today, 9:19 am

  • Amir Garrett elects free agency after outright
Amir Garrett has elected free agency.

Advice: Garrett was designated for assignment and went unclaimed by the Angels on Wednesday. The left-handed veteran is now free to sign with another club, but is likely looking at a minor-league pact. Rotoworld Today, 8:15 am
