    Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Wednesday, propelling the Royals to a 6-4 victory over the Brewers.

    Advice: Witt reached base safely in three of his four plate appearances and wound up scoring half of Kansas City’s runs in this one. His eight-inning blast off Brewers reliever Joel Payamps was his fifth of the season and turned out to be an important insurance run as Milwaukee attempted to mount a late comeback in the ensuing frame.     Advice: Turang capped off a three-hit performance with a run-scoring double off Royals reliever Tyler Duffey in the ninth inning, but wound up being stranded in scoring position representing the potential tying run. The 24-year-old speedster has made the most of his opportunity this season, emerging as Milwaukee’s everyday second baseman, posting an .826 OPS with two homers and 14 steals through 34 contests so far.   • Brayan Rocchio delivers game-winner in 10th
    Brayan Rocchio went 2-for-4 with a game-winning hit in the bottom of the 10th as the Guardians defeated the Tigers 5-4 on Wednesday.

    Advice: The Guardians just needed one in the 10th, and they got it after a sac bunt to advance the runner to third. The single accounted for Rocchio’s fifth RBI in 120 plate appearances this season.   • David Fry hits game-tying homer in ninth
    David Fry hit a game-tying homer off Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning Wednesday against the Tigers.

    Advice: Some curious bullpen management from the Tigers today got Fry a good matchup against a lefty in the ninth and he wound up with his second homer. This was actually a rare start against a righty for Fry, but he went 0-for-3 against them. The homer off Chafin made him 10-for-24 with four extra-base hits, 10 walks and two HBPs versus lefties this season. That’s a ridiculous .595 OBP.   • Sean Murphy (oblique) starts hitting in cage
    Braves’ manager Brian Snitker told reporters on Wednesday that Sean Murphy (oblique) has progressed to hitting in the batting cages.

    Advice: The 29-year-old backstop continues his slow and methodical progress in his return from a Grade 1 oblique strain. It sounds like a minor league rehab stint could be on the horizon soon, though it remains unclear how many games he’ll need there to get his timing back before he’s ready to rejoin the Braves.
