• Craig Kimbrel strikes out side to earn save
Craig Kimbrel returned to action and earned a save on Friday, striking out all three batters he faced versus the Reds.

Advice: That’s quite the positive outing for Kimbrel after he blew a second straight save chance Sunday and then missed a few days with back soreness. He has a 2.92 ERA and a 20/6 K/BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings for the season. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago
  • Hunter Greene goes 5 2/3 scoreless for Reds
Hunter Greene blanked the Orioles for 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Friday.

Advice: Greene, who also pitched shutout ball last time out, lowered his ERA to 3.12. Still, the Reds are somehow 1-6 when he pitches this season, despite being 15-10 the rest of the time. Greene’s luck should even out at some point, and he seems like an every-week play in mixed leagues. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Ryan O’Hearn hits two-run homer versus Reds
Ryan O’Hearn went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer versus the Reds on Friday.

Advice: O’Hearn legitimately looks like one of the AL’s best hitters right now, no matter how ludicrous such a statement would have been a year or two ago. That he doesn’t play versus lefties limits his fantasy value, but it’s probably time for the Orioles to try him against southpaws. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Jake Cronenworth homer helps Padres top D-Backs
Jake Cronenworth went 3-for-5 with a homer and two doubles in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Cronenworth swatted one of three homers for the Padres on Friday, with his being a solo shot off Slade Cecconi. Cronenworth has shown solid power to begin the 2024 season, as he’s up to six homers, nine doubles and a .516 slugging percentage through 122 at-bats. It’s certainly understandable to be skeptical considering that the 30-year-old hasn’t slugged above .400 over the last two seasons, but the results are awfully promising right now. • Manny Machado swats two-run HR in victory
Manny Machado hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Machado extended the Padres’ lead to 7-0 with a two-run shot in the fifth. The third baseman also drew a walk, and it helps his improve his slash to .250/.306/.403 over 124 at-bats. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago
  • Fernando Tatis Jr. homers, drives in three in win
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI in a 7-1 win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Padres were able to hit three homers Friday in the easy win, and Tatis Jr. swatted the first of those roundtrippers with a two-run shot in the fourth. The 25-year-old star also singled home a run in the fifth, and he’s up to seven homers and 20 RBI over the first month-plus. It’s nice to see Tatis Jr. remind early just how impressive of a talent he is. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago
  • Brent Rooker swats homer as A’s top Marlins
Brent Rooker hit a two-run homer to help the A’s to a win Friday over the Marlins.

Advice: Rooker absolutely scorched a two-run blast off Ryan Weathers to center, with the ball travelling an estimated 440 feet. That’s the sixth-homer of the season for the right-hander, and he’s up to 15 RBI over the A’s first 32 games. The average (.211) and stolen bases (1) leave much to be desired, but Rooker can certainly provide some pop. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

  • Erceg gives up run in four-out save vs. Marlins
Lucas Erceg gave up a run, but got the final four outs to get a save against the Marlins on Friday.

Advice: Erceg allowed an RBI double in the ninth to Vidal Bruján, but it came with the A’s leading by 3-1. The former hitting prospect struck out three and picked up his second save of the 2024 campaign. Erceg is a name to monitor because of his ability to miss bats, and even while allowing the run he still carries a very strong 1.93 ERA. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

  • Ryan Weathers allows three in loss to A’s
Ryan Weathers gave up three runs in six innings of work to pick up a loss Friday to the Athletics.

Advice: The southpaw gave up five hits without issuing a walk, and he struck out five. Two of the runs came on a homer from Brent Rooker, and Weathers also allowed a run-scoring single in the fifth. Not a terrible start — by definition it’s a Quality one — but not terribly impressive, either. Weathers shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups for his start against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
