    • Joey Loperfido not in Astros’ lineup on Saturday
Joey Loperfido is not in the Astros’ starting lineup for Saturday’s matchup against the Brewers.

Advice: Once again Loperfido finds himself on the bench with an opposing right-hander on the mound. He has hit well in his limited action — slashing .306/.359/.417 with a homer, five RBI and a stolen base in 39 plate appearances, though it has come with a troublesome 16/3 K/BB ratio. He could be at risk of heading back to Triple-A Sugar Land once Chas McCormick is ready to return from the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 1:11 pm

    • Sitting Saturday
Duran will sit Saturday versus the Angels.

Advice: Duran will head to the bench after going 1-for-12 with a walk and four strikeouts over the last four games. Jonah Heim will slot in at designated hitter while Andrew Knizner enters the lineup behind the plate and bats eighth against Los Angeles. Rotowire.com Today, 12:28 pm

    • Getting breather Saturday
Loperfido is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Brewers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Loperfido will get a breather after he went 2-for-8 with a two-run home run over the last three contests. Mauricio Dubon will replace him in left field and bat ninth against Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Today, 12:16 pm

    • Lars Nootbaar leads Cardinals past Red Sox
Lars Nootbaar homered, walked twice and scored three runs as the Cardinals bested the Red Sox 10-6 on Friday.

Advice: The Cardinals offense is bad, but Nootbaar is good, and the decision to drop him to the bottom of the order earlier this month was yet another poor one from Oli Marmol. Fortunately, Nootbaar is back batting second versus righties now. The homer was his fourth in 131 plate appearances. He’s hitting .300 with three homers and a 6/10 K/BB in his last nine games. • Homers, scores three runs
Nootbaar went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, two walks and three runs scored in Friday's win over Boston.

Advice: Nootbaar opened the scoring by taking Brayan Bello deep in the first inning. He later drew a pair of walks and scored each time. After a 21-game homerless drought, he's gone deep three times in his last nine games. He's up to four home runs with 12 runs scored and 14 RBI through 131 plate appearances. • Carroll returns to the lineup on Friday
Corbin Carroll is back in the Diamondbacks lineup, batting second against the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Carroll came off the bench and pinch ran and scored a run on Wednesday. Fantasy managers have to be frustrated with Carroll’s production so far this season as he’s hitting just .193 with a .539 OPS. Only seven qualified hitters have a lower batting average entering play Friday. It’s not what you want from a first round pick. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:25 pm

    • Crushes first homer
Loperfido went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Athletics while also drawing a walk.

Advice: Loperfido jumped on a changeup from Joey Estes with two outs in the bottom of the third inning and sent it over the wall in right field for his first big-league home run, capping off a six-run inning for Houston. The rookie outfielder has gotten off to a fantastic start and has now hit safely in five straight games. Over that stretch he's batting .388 (7-for-18) with three RBI and three runs scored. • Loperfido hits first big league home run
Joey Loperfido went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and two RBI against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was the first of Loperfido’s major league career. He’s now up to a .324/.378/.441 line in 37 plate appearances. He should continue to see regular playing time against right-handed pitching while Chas McCormick is on the IL. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:18 pm

    • Not in Wednesday's lineup
Merrill is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rockies.

Advice: The Rockies are sending southpaw Austin Gomber to the hill, so Padres manager Mike Shildt decided it would be a good day to give the left-handed-hitting Merrill a breather. Jose Azocar will patrol center field Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:24 am
