    • Perfect at plate Saturday
Schwarber went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Schwarber has multiple hits in three of his last five contests, though his double Saturday was his first extra-base hit since May 16. The 31-year-old slugger is up to a .234/.356/.396 slash line with nine home runs, 31 RBI, 40 runs scored and two stolen bases over 235 plate appearances this season. Schwarber's drop in power this season isn't a great sign after exceeding 45 homers in back-to-back years, but he continues to both walk (16.2 percent) and strike out (29.8 percent) at high rates. • Schwarber has three-hit game Saturday
Kyle Schwarber went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, a sacrifice fly, and two runs scored against the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Schwarber’s average is up to .234 on the season, which would be his best since 2021. Unfortunately, he’s having the worst power season of his career. Schwarber has nine home runs, but his .157 ISO this season is the lowest of his career. He’s hit at least 46 home runs in each of the last two seasons and has a career .259 ISO so a power surge could be on the way.

    • Clubs 12th homer
Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run, a double and two walks in Friday's loss to Cincinnati.

Advice: Hernandez also reached on a hit-by-pitch, so he got on base in all five of his plate appearances. Both of the outfielder's hits went for extra bases, and his ninth-inning solo homer was his first long ball in 12 games. Hernandez has been a strong addition to the Dodgers' high-octane offense, as he's tied for 10th in the league with 12 homers and ranks seventh with 38 RBI while slashing .254/.329/.487. • Triston Casas on track to start swinging next week
Triston Casas (rib) told reporters Saturday that he’s on track to resume swinging a bat next week.

Advice: Casas has been on the shelf, and unable to resume hitting at all, since suffering torn cartilage in his left rib cage back in mid-April. The 24-year-old slugger doesn’t have a firm return timetable yet, but the fact that he’ll resume swinging soon provides some optimism that he’ll be ready to return when first eligible on June 21. • Taking grounders
Casas (ribs) took grounders at first base Friday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Casas began throwing during Boston's previous homestand and has also been running and lifting. The next step for Casas will be swinging a bat, which requires rotation and puts more stress on the ribs and torso. No target date has been set for that yet. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:09 am

    • William Conteras goes 2-for-4, hits two-run homer
William Contreras went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk as the Brewers bested the Red Sox 7-2 on Friday.

Advice: Contreras has been the NL’s third-best player to date — and top non-Dodger — while batting .337/.412/.538. If this keeps up, he ought to be treated better in the MVP balloting this time around. There was an argument for him as the NL’s fifth-best player last year, but he wound up 11th in the MVP balloting then. Rotoworld Friday, 10:47 pm
    • Teoscar Hernádez homers in loss
Teoscar Hernádez went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, double, two walks, and two runs scored in a loss to the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Hernádez’s ninth inning home run cut the Reds’ lead to three, but to no avail for the Dodgers. The homer was his 12th of the season, just one behind Shohei Ohtani for the team-lead and his two walks raised his walk rate near 9%. That would be the most Hernádez has walked since 2019. He’s chasing far less than he has in years past, too. That and him hitting in the middle of the Dodgers’ potent lineup has made him one of the best run producers in the league so far this season. • Nick Castellanos homers as Phillies top Rangers
Nick Castellanos went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in a 5-2 win for the Phillies on Thursday over the Rangers.

Advice: Castellanos extended the Phillies’ lead to 5-2 with a solo blast in the seventh inning. The veteran outfielder has been able to provide five homers thus far in 2024, and the pair of hits see his average increase to a still-disappointing .206 mark. Castellanos is a good bet to be (much) better over the final two-thirds of the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:20 pm
    • Homers in win
Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Marte singled in his first at-bat to extend his hitting streak to 23 games and later added a solo homer to lead off the eighth, giving the Diamondbacks a 5-0 lead. The long ball was the second baseman's fifth this month, and he's now recorded at least one RBI in three of his last five games, batting .318 over that brief stretch. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:26 am
