• Nick Senzel (knee) returns to lineup on Thursday
Nick Senzel (knee) is in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Braves.

Advice: Senzel left Wednesday’s contest in the second inning after fouling a ball off his right knee, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s ready to go without missing any time. Rotoworld Today, 2:06 pm

  • Masataka Yoshida (thumb) starts hitting progression
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) began taking swings off a tee earlier this week.

Advice: Yoshida was able to avoid surgery on his left thumb, but has been completely shut down from hitting for the last few weeks. The 30-year-old is going to need plenty of time to ramp-up his hitting progression, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back for at least a few weeks, if not longer. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

  • IL stint expected to be brief
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that he's optimistic O'Neill's (knee) stay on the 10-day injured list will be a short one, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill landed on the IL on Wednesday with right knee inflammation, an injury that he had been playing with for a while. While Cora didn't exactly commit to O'Neill requiring just the minimum 10-day absence, it does not appear he will be out long. He's eligible for activation on June 5. Rob Refsnyder appears most likely to soak up the bulk of the playing time at designated hitter while O'Neill is out, although the Red Sox have Connor Wong at DH and Reese McGuire at catcher Thursday versus the Tigers. • Ronald Acuña Jr. to undergo knee surgery Tuesday
Ronald Acuña Jr. will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

Advice: The procedure will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who performed Acuña’s other ACL surgery on his right knee back in 2021. The 26-year-old fantasy superstar There won’t be an official timetable for his return until he undergoes surgery next week as ElAttrache will determine at that time whether he suffered any additional structural damage to his knee, which would keep him sidelined much longer. If it winds up being a straightforward ACL surgery, there’s enough reason for fantasy managers to optimistically project Acuña to be ready for the outset of the 2025 campaign. • Jose Siri blasts two homers to help Rays edge A’s
Jose Siri went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs on Thursday in the Rays’ victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Siri’s second home run was a game-tying blast off Athletics closer Mason Miller in the bottom of the ninth inning. The two-homer game gives him a total of just five on the season after hitting 25 in 101 games last year. Siri hit just .222 last season and is at .188 this year so he can’t be counted on for batting average. It’s possible that he could supply a decent amount of power over the course of the rest of the season, though. Rotoworld Today, 1:44 pm

  • In Thursday's lineup
Senzel (knee) will start at third base and bat sixth in Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Senzel eventually had to depart Wednesday's contest versus Atlanta after fouling a ball off his right knee in the second inning, but he's back in there the following day. The 28-year-old has experienced a power outage in May, going homerless in 22 games after he hit five in just 12 contests during April. Rotowire.com Today, 1:33 pm

  • Suzuki hits pinch hit home run Thursday
Seiya Suzuki went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Suzuki’s fifth of the season. He pinch hit in the seventh inning a homered off left-handed reliever Bryan Hudson. It was just the second home run for Suzuki since coming off the injured list on May 11th. He seems to be over the injury as he’s now on a seven-game hitting streak. Rotoworld Today, 1:22 pm

  • Two hits in win
Frelick went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 6-4 win against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Frelick singled and came around to score on a Joey Ortiz double in the second inning and added another base hit in the fourth. Frelick has had a part-time role recently, playing against right-handed pitchers and sitting against most lefties. Since May 20, he has started five of a possible 10 games while hitting seventh in the Brewers lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 1:10 pm

  • Akil Baddoo gets another start on Thursday
Akil Baddoo is starting in left field and hitting sixth for the Tigers on Thursday against the Red Sox.

Advice: It seems like Baddoo is getting the first crack at taking Kerry Carpenter’s playing time while Carpenter is on the IL with a back injury. The 25-year-old has hit .253/.360/.473 in Triple-A this year, so we’re not running out to add him in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:02 pm
