      Gray allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over 7.2 innings in Monday's 7-6 win versus the Marlins. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.

      Advice: Gray pitched into the eighth inning for the first time this season and left the game up 4-1, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. The four strikeouts were a season low for Gray as he worked fast and efficiently, only needing 84 pitches to record 23 outs. The veteran's ERA now sits at 2.95 with a 1.02 WHIP through 13 starts.       Advice: Happ’s home run was his eighth of the season. The three-run blast gave the Cubs a 6-3 lead in the seventh inning. It was Happ’s second home run in his last three games and third consecutive game with at least two hits. Happ’s wRC+ on the season is up to 115, which is the same as his career wRC+.       Kikuchi (4-6) allowed five runs on seven hits over four innings Monday, striking out seven and taking a loss against Boston.

      Advice: Kikuchi was cursed by the long ball Monday, coughing up four solo shots in the first three innings. Tyler O'Neill accounted for two of them, including in the first inning when he went back-to-back with Rafael Devers. Kikuchi had allowed just four home runs over his previous six starts entering Monday and had not given up multiple long balls in any start this season.       Sonny Gray allowed two runs over 7 2/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

      Advice: Gray was long gone before this one was decided in a 12-inning marathon, but he managed to complete seven frames for the second consecutive start. He struck out four and only issued two walks. The 34-year-old righty has been excellent this season in his St. Louis debut, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 10 of his 13 starts so far.     • Kikuchi allows five in loss to Red Sox Monday
      Yusei Kikuchi allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Red Sox on Monday.



      Advice: Kikuchi gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out seven. He had won his last two starts. Kikuchi was hit hard in this one as he allowed four home runs to the Red Sox. He’s now allowed 11 home runs on the season (1.22 HR/9). It was the second time in four June starts that Kikuchi allowed five runs. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians on the road this weekend.

    • Gerrit Cole officially starting on Wednesday
      According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Gerrit Cole will make his season debut on Wednesday against the Orioles

      Advice: It always seemed likely that the Yankees would bring Cole back to face the Orioles, and we now know that will be the case. Cole has looked good during his rehab starts and was up to 70 pitches in his last outing, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go at least 80 pitches on Wednesday night if the results allow.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed Monday that Cole (elbow) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut Wednesday against the Orioles, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

      Advice: Cole has been lights out on his rehab assignment, yielding one earned run with a 19:0 K:BB over 12.1 innings covering three starts. In his final rehab outing this past Friday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Cole struck out 10 while allowing just one unearned run across 4.1 frames. The right-hander has been out all season after being diagnosed in mid-March with nerve irritation and edema in his right elbow.
