The second baseman is up to a .255/.318/.357 slash line with six steals, two home runs, 23 RBI, 23 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple over 40 contests.       Bassitt won't start Wednesday's game against the Orioles at Camden Yards, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Bassitt was slated to start Tuesday in Baltimore before the game was postponed due to inclement weather. Rather than pushing each member of their rotation back a day in the pitching schedule to accommodate the postponement, the Blue Jays will have Yusei Kikuchi take the hill on normal rest Wednesday. As Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca notes, Bassitt has been hit hard by left-handed batters this season, and the lefty Kikuchi may give Toronto a better chance at coming away with a win against a lefty-heavy Baltimore lineup. The Blue Jays haven't announced their rotation plans for this weekend's series with the Rays, but expect Bassitt to start at least one of those games rather than having his turn skipped entirely.       Harris went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Cubs.

      Advice: The 23-year-old center fielder snapped a 20-game homer drought by taking Jameson Taillon deep in the fourth inning, kicking off a six-run frame that blew the game wide open. Harris is just one of a number of Atlanta hitters who have had sluggish starts to the season -- Tuesday's long ball was his first extra-base hit of any kind since April 26 -- but he may be heating up, as he has five hits and two walks in the last four games, lifting his slash line on the year to .260/.305/.390.       Advice: The 27-year-old slugger took Trevor Williams deep in the second inning of the matinee, the first homer the Washington right-hander has served up in 2024. Jimenez could be heating up after a quiet start to the season -- over the last seven games, he's gone 7-for-27 (.259) with three doubles and a homer.       Rodon (4-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing one run on six hits and no walks during six innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Rodon turned in his fourth quality start of his last five appearances and didn't issue a walk for a third straight start. The lone run charged against him came via a Ryan Jeffers homer in the bottom of the first. After posting a 6.85 ERA in his first season in New York, Rodon has bounced back with a 3.31 ERA through nine starts and is tied for the team lead in wins.       Gilbert (3-2) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 6.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Royals.

      Advice: Gilbert allowed just four baserunners over the first six innings. He went back out for the seventh, but two walks and a Nelson Velazquez home run ended his outing in unfortunate fashion. It's a significant improvement on the eight-run fiasco he had in Minnesota in his last start, but it's still a second straight loss for 27-year-old. He's pitched to a 3.07 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB over 58.2 innings across nine starts this season. Gilbert is projected for a tough road start versus the Yankees his next time out.       Logan Gilbert lost to the Royals after allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday.

      Advice: All of the runs scored on Nelson Velázquez’s homer with two outs in the seventh, after which Gilbert was immediately removed. Obviously, it was an unfortunate conclusion, but it was still a nice rebound outing after he gave up eight runs last time out versus the Twins.       Carlos Rodón allowed one earned run over six innings while striking out six and earning the win on Tuesday against the Twins.

      Advice: Rodón gave up a leadoff homer to Ryan Jeffers in the first inning but settled in nicely after. Three of the six hits he allowed came in the first inning, as he went on to scatter just three more hits over the following five frames. He lowered his ERA on the season to 3.31 and is now sitting on a 4-2 record through nine starts. He’ll look to pick up his fifth win of the season on Sunday against the White Sox.     • Michael Harris II homers in win over Cubs
      Michael Harris II went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk in a win over the Cubs on Tuesday.

      Advice: Harris hit a solo shot off of Jameson Taillon in the fourth inning that traveled 426 feet and left the bat at 106.7 mph. It was his fourth home run and 15th RBI of the season. The 23-year-old is one of quite a few Braves hitters who aren’t living up to their typical production early in the season.
